LIlPenny's not sure if firing him so soon is the solution but SVG's substitutions aren't winning us any games like we should be, especially in our home court

I don't agree. The easiest thing in the world is to watch a game and then second guess the coach. SVG is better than what we have had in the past and more importantly, better than anything we are likely to get in the future.

 

The Magic have a long history of hiring the wrong coach, from Goukas, to Hill, to Davis, to Hill again.

 

I'm not crazy about Doc River's coaching ability but I still think that was a gutsy move by the Magic and he did get the coach of the year award his first year here. Chuck Daly was probably the best coach we ever had and it will forever haunt this franchise that we wasn't hired BEFORE Shaq left.

 

With that history, do you really think Otis is going to get us a better coach?

 

I suffered Hill for the last couple of years, it's going to take a shtload of bad coaching from Van before I get on your bandwagon.

Well for once it would've been nice of Otis could've gotten Adelman. Without McGrady and they have been competitive both times we've played them. LIlPenny was all about getting SVG but apparently it was just deceiving, his common sense is nowhere as good as we expected. Brian Hill was a worse coach but I agree with Mellow that his rotations were better than Gundy. At least he gave both Darko, Ariza and even Redick minutes. It's possible we would've seen Gortat already under Bhill instead of fricking Cook or Pat Garrity!

 

Let us remember how a few weeks ago the Rockets coudlnt' throw it in the ocean and still came back and almost beat us. Today againt without TMac they beat us. Who knows likely Billy Donovan would've started a more defensively-solid lineup and would not have traded a defensive and athletic freak like Ariza for two no-names.

The guy hasn't even had 1 year and some people are calling him to be fired. Come on. You got to give coaches some time. If our bosses/companies used the same logic know one would have a job. There are a lot of great coaches out there that would have never made it if they were fired their 1st or 2nd year.

 

I'm a big Redick fan and I think he should play back up SG. I think his talent is rotting on the bench. But the coach is the coach and he makes the calls. I can disagree with him and question his decisions but I have to give the coach time to use his plan for the team.

 

Firing him is extreme and in my opinion would be wrong.
