The Road to the White House

Recommended Posts

Your next president is African American whether you like it or not. Deal with it. John McCain lost as assumed by many and lost a "finally" fair election in the U.S. History is made in front of Billions of people as we have a change of color at the highest power in the world.

So in a months and years, everyone will move on. I also expect this painting to be a historic symbol: Art from the Manifest Hope Gallery

Seriously Dub?

We have a conversation in this thread for several months on a plethora of issues ranging from the economy, to the war in Iraq, to foreign affairs, to abortion, to education, etc, and now you want to chime in with "Your next president is African American whether you like it or not. Deal with it."????

Then you follow that up with "finally a fair election in the U.S."??????

Is this the kind of crap they teach you kids in school these days?

I know, right? Doesn't it seem like our government should invest more in education?

See what I did there?

Yes...are you taking that personal? I learned to deal with any color of any race being the higher power. I"m not going to involve race into this even though I indicated that in the previous post to say that this is historic. Are you refusing to "deal with it?". I was referring to who still can't get over the election. Come on guys...a socialist? Thats still name calling and my book even though he's not apart of the forum and I wouldn't take that insult for McCain also. Just have class. And I'm not saying that you said that Smack. You guys look to much into peoples post sometimes....ridiculous.

It wouldn't have mattered to me whether McCain was president anyway because things my life wouldn't change the next day anyway.

I called this election fair because their hasn't been any speculation of votes being rigged within the states with the higher electorial votes.....(Florida) "YET". So far, there have been thousands of voter complaints and I could careless if they wanted to recount or not.

I would like everyone to know that I'm not biased against any candidate in the election and who won has won. Being a student at FAMU, the highest rated HBCU in the country, this is a big deal.

I do approve of the result of this election for one reason. Your permission slip to underachieve based on skin color has been revoked.

A black man is the leader of the free world. Now what are you going to blame your shortcomings as a race on?

I like this too. Everyone now has a role model. No more secret agendas of putting a race down. If he does a great job (hopefully) maybe he'll do the same for blacks as kennedy did for the Irish.

Very true, no more evidence or accusations of whites keeping black men down, seeing as it took a large number of them (white Americans) to put him in the White House.

Incidentally, I love how we consider Obama black, when he is half and half, with the black half not even American Black, but African.

I want to know what other blacks in America relate to Obama on on a personal level. Seriously, this is an honest question.

My black roommate voted for Bob Barr, because he didn't like McCain and he is a full on Libertarian. He also said that Obama was about as authentically black as Bill Clinton was.

I would like a perspective from a Black American who voted for Obama on what exactly he relates to or what he sees in himself in Obama.
