~O~ Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 With Trevor Ariza's role as "Mr. Hustle" and "Every Where Man" taken by the guy with the dreads, Ariza may be more enterprising to be a Boston Killer tonight to compensate for his performance on Monday. Within this sport, I have found that the Magic have to nearly overcome two teams to win a game. Although the second team isn't actually playing the sport, they sure determine the conclusion, 100% of it. With the struggling depth the Orlando Magic have in guards and forwards, they have to appear with a competitive face and allow the flame to emerge from there hearts, the flame to win! With this upcoming game vs. the Boston Celtics, the Magic are looking at an easy win or are they?! Hmm....... The Magic seem to never take advantage of lackadaisic teams of the east or any struggling team for that matter. From what I've heard on television, the Celtics are tanking but they could very well attempt to thieve a win tonight. Never underestimate the opponent and do not assume your invulnerable to losing this game. Thats the advice I give to these Magic players. .:::Unnecessary Magic Killers:::. jack daniel 999 Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 Game Preview; By JEFF MEZYDLO, STATS Writer After consecutive wins against teams in the playoff race, the Orlando Magic look to stay hot Wednesday when they face the worst team in the Eastern Conference in a matchup with the Boston Celtics. Orlando (33-38) won 94-89 at New York on Monday, three days after beating New Jersey 90-82. All three teams are in the mix for the final two playoff spots in the East. Those victories have the Magic in seventh place in the conference -- a half-game ahead of the eighth spot -- and looking to win three in a row for the first time since winning five straight from Dec. 30-Jan. 10. The Magic are 11-24 since that streak, but have won four of their last six, including two of three on the road. They are 12-24 away from home, giving them the most road losses of any Eastern team among the top eight. Jameer Nelson hit a key 3-pointer with 38 seconds left Monday, moments after Dwight Howard blocked Stephon Marbury's shot to keep the game tied. "It's a big win, not just because we're just a game apart in the loss column, (but) getting another road win," said Orlando coach Brian Hill, who's trying to guide the Magic to the postseason for the first time since 2002-03. "They're all going to be big down the stretch here. Certainly though, with a team that we're battling in the standings, there is added significance." Nelson and Hedo Turkoglu each finished with 18 points while Howard, the team's top scorer and rebounder, was held to 10 points but had 14 boards, five assists and four blocks. Howard posted his fourth straight double-double and bounced back after not blocking a shot against New Jersey. "Dwight's blocks were huge, but that's what All-Stars do," Hill said. "He stepped up when the game was on the line." Orlando will look for a fourth straight win over Boston before returning home Friday to face Indiana -- another team in the playoff mix -- to begin a four-game homestand. Grant Hill had 21 points, and Howard added 18 with 12 rebounds in Orlando's 87-79 win over the Celtics on Jan. 7 in the teams' most recent meeting. Hill, second on the team at 13.9 points per game, is averaging 19.5 in two games against the Celtics this season. However, he's totaled just 18 points over his last two games after scoring 24 in a loss to Toronto last Wednesday. Boston (21-49) beat Toronto 95-87 on Monday to snap a three-game losing streak. Paul Pierce scored 23 points and Al Jefferson had 22 and nine rebounds as the Celtics became the last team in the NBA to win 10 home games. Boston is a league-worst 10-25 at home, but played well against the playoff-bound Raptors, holding an opponent below 90 points for the 11th time this season. "These guys are making the plays necessary and playing tough defense," said Pierce, averaging 27.1 points in his last six games. "I think we have to give credit to our defense. We didn't shoot the ball particularly well, but we got the turnovers and got the easy baskets. That's all you need in games like this." Their last winning streak featured wins over Milwaukee and New Jersey and at the time improved the record to 25-22. In between winning streaks, Orlando has gone 8-16. ... Former Knicks F Trevor Ariza finally returned to New York and scored six points in 18 minutes. After scoring nine points in eight minutes Friday against New Jersey, G Carlos Arroyo did not play for the fourth time in five games. ... Scalabrine said team medical officials want to wait three days for the swelling to go down before he is re-evaluated and a possible decision is made to sit him for the rest of the season. He suffered the injured March 21 vs. Charlotte. C Michael Olowokandi will miss the rest of the season after fracturing the cuboid bone in his left foot. Olowokandi suffered the injury late in practice Sunday when he tripped over Gerald Green. Olowokandi averaged 1.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 24 games this season off the bench. Before Monday's game, head coach Doc Rivers was singing the praises of his son and his Georgetown Hoya teammates. Following practice Sunday, Rivers flew down to New Jersey to see Jeremiah, a reserve guard, help the Hoyas beat North Carolina in overtime and advance to the fifth Final Four in school history. barnettej Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 I think we will win our 3rd game against the Cetlics. Looking at the match-ups, I dont see any Celtic's players matching up to our "big men". As far as our defense goes, we should just concentrate on pushing the Celtics to drive. From a politic side of the game, the Celtics really dont want to win... atleast thats what the front office is thinking. The Celtics want the number one pick in this years draft, because lets face it... "what do they gain by winning?" Answer: Nothing So we will gladly take this win. Quote
CaseyMullen928 Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 yeah but i doubt Doc wants to do us any favors. If there was one he wants to win, its this one. We gotta be prepared. No game in the association is a given GO MAGIC! Quote
rdeezy Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 this is a big game. we need to win the rest of our games from her eon out. we cant lose to boston if we are hoping to get into the playoffs. Quote
