Other than M.J. I would go with John Stockton. We would definitely benefit from his assists and steals...and most of all, poise and control at the point.

Feel this one out:

-John Stockton

-JJ Redick

-Rashard Lewis

-Dwight Howard (yes...Dwight at power forward)

-Marcin Gortat

How about it fellas?

Much Love!

I was also thinking of Stockton. But of course MJ would be a great choice as well.

Magic Johnson, the best player ever, the only one that could play any position on the court an do it right. From PG to REPLACING JABAR in THE CENTER and in the finals. THE BEST EVER...

There's only one Legend.

Give me Larry Bird, all day, every day.

Career numbers =

24.3 pts, 10 reb, 6.3 ast, 1.73 stls, .84 blk

Best year =

28.1 pts, 9.3 reb, 7.6 ast, 1.82 stls, .95 blk

There's a reason why the guy won ROY, All-Defensive Team (3times), All-NBA Team (9times), and three NBA championships and 3 MVPs.

Since Otis is planning on having Shard run at the PF anyway, why not have Bird filling in at the SF dishing out 7 assists per game. Then, who cares who's running the point.

Bird is very high on my list as well.

Lewis, Howard and Bird on the front line would be nearly unstopable.

Nearly?

Rashard could compare closely to McHale, Dwight is a ton better than Parrish and Jameer is a similar type player as DJ.

I think we could be better than the Celtics of the 80s.

I love that the Magic/Bird rivalry still goes on. This was the greatest time for an NBA fan. Greater than when MJ was king because he had no equal when he truly peeked; Bird, Magic, Zeke and Clyde (to some extent) were on the downside of their careers.

I've gotta disagree with you, Smack, on the Jameer and DJ comparison. DJ was one of the best defenders at the PG position I have ever seen; Jameer is one of the worst.

And it pains me to say that, as I loved the Lakers and hated the Celtics during the time of this rivalry.

You beat me to it Star. I'm going with Maravich.

In today's game, you need some excitement to sell tickets as well as numbers. This guy is was the total package. Maybe the best passer in NBA history. He would also fill the SG spot we desperately need.

He could score from anywhere on the floor, create his own shot, dish it and ran the fast break BETTER than Magic Johanson. And we all know how important the fast break will be to our offense. He also had that mean streak.

I mean, the guy averaged 30+ points every year in the NBA.
