My guess is we have little to no cap room right now. There is a good chance they waived our rights to Diener as well to make the numbers work.

We have no more free agent money. Even if Darko wanted to come back we couldn't do anything. Otis just mortgage the Magic's future on a guy that would not have gotten that money from any team!

This probably means his starting salary is only $15 mil. Otherwise we would have had to renounce Deiner and Frans Rights, and possibly cut Augie to to stay under the cap with the trade.

 

We could not go over the cap to trade for a player, so he must not have signed for as much as reported??

Denton is saying his starting salary is 15.64 mill, but that's based on a 56.63 cap. Unless the 56 is a typo.

 

so 39.13 + 15.64 = 54.77

Please look at the link below (#19) if we are now over the cap as stated above we do have exemptions to use. I believe we are now able to use the mid-level and bi-annual. The mid-level is what we used a few years ago when we signed Turk and were over the cap with Hill/Francis.
