Official Game Thread: Hornets Vs Magic

Man... i cant stop laughing at this.... So let me get this.... man.... straight.... Because Nelson has a Ast/To ratio of 2.75 and ranks 12th (not sue if thats career or season) and his Career Assist is 5.1... that doesnt make him a PG? Minus all the other jello you added into the mix from your observations.

Are you sure you want to use this as the base of your post as well as positioning more minutes for Beno (who has lower stats than the ones you mentioned above)?

I was already giggling at the start... But the last line there just made me go into all out hysterics...

Thanks for responding to this. I was trying to, but every time I tried to focus on one point, my eyes would start hurting due to the jumbled up garbage around it. I mean that was painful to read.

Facts still baffle you i see.

Beno just got here. How long has Jameer? Jameer has been hurt longer that Beno has been in Orlando.

What is your description of an NBA point guard? Do you have one?

Career Assists per Game is 5.1 as a pro.

This position is born in ignorance. Ignorance of how our offense, under Stan was not conducive to generating assists for a PG and how that impact is on display with Jameer's career assist numbers.

Now that we aren't running a deliberately slow half court offense based on feeding Dwight in the low post, and with a team that struggles to score on most nights, how is Jameer playing in terms of assists per game? He's top ten in the league in both assists per game and assists per 48 minutes both as a player, and more specifically, as a point guard. As a matter of fact, he is half an assist per game away from being tied for top 5 in the league in assists per game, but yeah, you're right, he's not a point guard.

Yep, your facts do more than Baffle me my friend...

Beno is a good PG, probably better served on a team that runs more like a D'Antoni system. Beno is okay at the half court, but really his game is in transition. While Beno just got here, he has been in the league the same amount of time as Nelson, 8yrs deep. Now where Nelson and Beno diff is the fact that when Nelson had the chance to take on a starting role, Nelson played well enough to keep it. Beno on the other hand was in a tougher position being on the Spurs who had Tony Parker. But was given the same opportunity as Nelson when Beno went to the Kings. Beno didnt play well enough as a starter for the Kings, which prompted them to draft a PG.

Beno has played more games than Nelson, 607 compared to 571. However Nelson has started twice as many games as Beno, 476 compared to 234. Career stat's wise isnt even close with Nelson leading 90% of the categories that are out there. And then there is the college material that goes along with these players. Nelson was a Co-player of the year... on a college team that wasnt big and often overlooked. Plus Nelson was a 1 time All Star.

Description of an NBA PG:

A NBA PG who someone who is the quarterback of the team and helps facilitate the offense and defensive sets. This individual needs to have a complete understanding of the system they play on both ends of the floor. This individual needs to be able to make fast and right decisions when reading the defense or offense.Typical NBA PG are anywhere from 5"11 to 6"4 with a decent ability to shoot but an above ability to see, read and pass. Typically they are not the focal point of the team, but people like Magic Johnson kind of change that.

The one thing that I personally think all PG and players should have is this: HEART. And thats one thing I can say without a doubt in my mind that Nelson has over alot of PG's in this league.... Nelson has HEART. Where there is HEART, there is a great leadership and lessons to be shared among the young core, which will help them win us a championship.

Derek Fisher isnt much of a PG either in a Stat conversation, but that dude has some serious Heart which has brought him many championships.

As Captain has eluded too...

Nelson had to run a very structured offense with Dwight Howard. The whole scheme was 1 - In, 4 - Out.... Do your damage on the inside, force teams to collapse and then start lighting them up for 3's... Since SVG felt that the 3 ball was more important than the 2 Ball. It was a half court system that worked well when everything was flowing right and Howard wasnt getting into foul trouble.

Thats the reason why you havent seen Nelson with crazy assist numbers.

Extra Thought: "maybe the structure offense was because Dwight isnt very bright?"

So comparing Career Average with a One Year Average is ok with you? Years 2010-2011 he averaged 6.0 2012-2013 he is averaging 7.4,

Don't give me the Stan coaching style for a reason.
