2024 NBA Draft Thread

Recommended Posts

New ESPN mock has a lot of movement again some notables:

#6 Tidjane Salaun

#7 Rob Dillingham

#11 Ron Holland

#14 Zach Edey

#17 (Magics current pick) Kevin McCullar Jr

#31 Justin Edwards

#35 Pelle Larson (feels like the first time I've seen Larson on a mock this season, definitely think he's draftable)

#47 (Magic's current 2nd) Trey Alexander

#55 Baylor Scheierman (glad he's getting a bit of love, I thought he might end up as a top undrafted guy and he still might but this is the first major mock I've seen him on)

I like McCullar Jr for us. Think that'd be an interesting pick.

Dalton Knecht had 39 points last night against Florida.

He's obviously a good shooter and he's got touch around the basket. From what I've seen he's a pretty solid ball handler and a willing passer too. His man defense is pretty bad but from a help perspective he looks passable from what I've seen. He's 6'6, shoots it, looks comfortable as the pick and roll ball handler, that's interesting. In this draft worth a pick in the 20s probably.

Tristan Da Silva has the same agent as Cole Anthony *shifty eyes*. (This never means anything it's just fun for me to look at).

Was out there looking like Larry Bird. I dunno what his draft projection of but I’d take him

16. Orlando Magic: Reed Sheppard

16 OF 58

Reed Sheppard, Kentucky

Stock status: Steady

Previous mock draft spot: No. 9

School: Kentucky

Position: SG

Size: 6'3", 187 lbs

Age: 19

Pro comparison: Donte DiVincenzo

While lottery teams may hesitate to take a 6'3" guard who isn't a high-level creator, playoff teams may see an instant role player who can provide spot-up shooting, ball-moving and pesky defense.

Entering Wednesday, Kentucky was 15 games in and Sheppard's outrageous efficiency and defensive production weren't falling. Sheppard was at 54.1 percent on 4.1 three-point attempts while averaging 4.1 assists (to 1.5 turnovers), 2.5 steals and 0.8 blocks in 26.5 minutes.

  1. Per Jonathan Wasserman …so I’m not the only one haha …GO MAGIC !

If the Magic get Reed Sheppard in this draft I'll do a god damn backflip.

That's how much I like Reed Sheppard, I'm agreeing with Ball Junkie about something.

Someone called Johnathan Mogbo

Yea I saw Jonathan Givony tweeted about him last week on Reddit.

Mid major, 22 year old forward who can't shoot doesn't sound like a draft pick to me but I admit I've never actually watched him play.
