Mauro Pedrosa 1,032 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 It's not that I don't like Isaac, but with the offensive deficiencies we have, we HAD to go for Smith or Monk. I mean c'mon...
JJZFL 619 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 Jeff Weltman said he felt the talent level in the draft flattened out at a certain point and it became more valuable to preserve assets. Apparently it flattened out after the 6th pick.
Tank Vogel 191 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 And yet at the end of the day, they still had a worse record than us last year. Which is how they get to pick higher and get better players and not pay 70 mil to backup Cs.
Justin Jaudon 221 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 I don't mind the pick too much, but I'm very skeptical about Vogel being able to develop this roster's OFFENSE - the thing we need the most if we really want to roll with Isaac, Gordon and Payton. I'd really like to see management blow up a big part of the roster. If our starting 5 for the season is Payton, Fournier, Isaac, Gordon, Vucevic I will have trouble even turning the games on. I'm not worried about that being our starting 5. Isaac isn't ready to start on an NBA team, even a terrible one. I'd say Hezonja starting this year is actually more likely. That is to say, not very likely at all. We'll roll with Elf, Fournier, Ross, Gordon, and Vuc, because we know that's a bad team, which is what we want. Mind you, we don't want to be too bad. Can't have the fans thinking we're trying to tank. We'll win like 27-30 games, pick 4th. We'll pick Mohamed Bamba or Robert Williams 'cuz "length".
Tough Break There 96 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 I'd really like to see management blow up a big part of the roster. Thing is, how? We have an unfortunate roster of either overpaid vets that nobody is interested in, or young guys that haven't met potiential but won't net anything in return. Other then Brooklyn or Sac Town, is there a team in the league with a roster situation that's worse then ours?

So it really did seem like the draft was our best chance at this point if we wanted to blow things up and start from scratch.

We're not filling holes -- were starting from scratch and knocking the whole building down. We're collecting assets right now. Tank Vogel 191 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 Dump Vuc, run Biyombo/Zimmerman at C with ultra small Gordon/Isaac/Mario/Ross/Payton lineups.
