Fultz4thewin 2,464 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 one other thing you want to look at with Fox, ok, he cant shoot, can he dominate in other ways? it's one thing if you're john wall and not being able to shoot well but hitting 51% of your 2 point shots. Fox is at 49% but that's heavily influenced by going 23/34 (68%) against UT-Martin, Hofstra, ASU, and Canisius. Against UCLA, Michigan State, and UNC he's shooting 19/43 (44%). In situations where he can afford to be the third option that's not great. The good news is he shot 50% against Louisville. Basically, we need concrete proof that he's able to score efficiently in the NBA and it being December means we've seen almost nothing of these players to be able to project them. The "oh my god this guy is going to be great" players are easy to spot. the "I'm not sure if this guy is a solid starter or a decent backup" guys are much harder so we need the most data possible. Soul Bro 1,419 Report post Posted January 3, 2017 Ford's latest mock has us picking 7th and choosing Tatum: "How deep is this draft? Some NBA scouts have Tatum No. 1 on their board. He goes No. 7 here. Tatum is the prototypical NBA wing in both size and skill set. He's athletic and strong, he can score from all over the floor, and he plays defense. His lack of a strong 3-point shot (6-for-20 so far this season) is the biggest weakness of his game and pushes him a little farther down the board for some teams. The Magic don't really need a small forward, especially when Aaron Gordon continues to show so much promise. But at this point, Tatum is the best player on the board and a great pick here." http://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/18396903/chad-ford-nba-mock-draft-20-picks-philadelphia-76ers-boston-celtics-more

Not Hennys fault entirely -- but we should have planned ahead to tank this year if our previous plan fell through because of how deep this draft is and the fact that it's the best chance to change this franchise around. Instead we're bad at the wrong times with weak drafts and are now mediocre during a great draft. This blows.
