Channing Frye makes NBA history

Recommended Posts

He was never expected to make an Impact on defense however he was not supposed to be a Huge Liability either.

Go back and look at some of the conversations about his acquisition.

We don't use him right.

This is correct.

Reality is that Frye and other vets privately have questioned the schemes here since they arrived.

Its a shame since Vaughn has the concepts, wants to run, wants to use Vaughn properly, but he just can't execute the X's and O's well enough.

So the vets were brought in to provide leadership to the youngsters, and instead showed them how to get the coach fired?

Beautiful.

Looks like Kyler is saying the same thing.

This season was supposed to be different. This was the year the young horses were supposed to run and really get a chance to challenge. However, from the start of training camp there was a sense that many things were not right. Some of the veterans that were brought in to support the young guys questioned some of the ideas being executed in training camp and in the preseason. That spread to some of the younger guys.

He was supposed to be a stretch 4 that could slide down low and defend some centers when we go small. His defense is Horrible much worse than when he was playing in Phoenix, the efforts just not there. I could understand if it was rotations making him look lost he's not even boxing out or contesting jumpers. I see no reason to have him on the floor with his current effort on the defensive end.

Schemes and bad coaching don't cause a guy to lay goose eggs across a stat line. Being terrible does.

He wasn't terrible in Phoenix. All about the system the coach is running. Pretty simple if you ask me.

As stated, Frye's struggles on offense have a whole lot to do with being the only one on the team with a consistent jump shot. His disappearing act last game can mainly be attributed to everyone trying to play iso basketball. At least from an offensive stand point. It is disheartening to have a starting 4 play a game and not get a single rebound though.
