The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Can anyone seriously gives me a good reason for why Henny would ever actually accept the Nets package? Besides the team wanting to move on or Devos doing Howard a favor, can anyone think of any good reason at all?

Good reasons? None.

Bad reasons? He just wants to make a trade?

This an interesting bit from ESPN.com's latest update about the trade talks:

Humphries' agent, Dan HWNSNBU, is still trying to convince Humphries to settle for a deal that will be guaranteed for just one year. HWNSNBU also represents Howard. The Bobcats have more salary-cap space than the Cavs and would not be opposed to a multiyear deal for Humphries, a source told Bucher.

Granted, this info is from the same "sources" we've been discounting all week, but if it is remotely true, and HWNSNBU has actually been trying to convince Humphries to take an inferior deal in order to accommodate another player he represents, then he should be investigated by the NBAPA. Talk about a direct conflict of interest.

David Stern "owning" the Hornets was a major conflict of interest.

He got away with it, so Fagan will likely get away with this.

If Humphries was smart, he'd just simply fire his agent ASAP.

Looks like humphries will be offered something under the table to accept the 1 year deal

@JRudolphSports

If this thing was about the Magic getting the "best deal" Howard would have been a Laker weeks ago. I see nothing but a bluff here.

----

If we trade for Bynum, we still have the best shot at re-signing him since we would own his bird rights, esp if we got his friend Brian Shaw to coach him.

Isn't it true that guys like Howard and Bynum won't want to sign an extension now is because they can get more by waiting next summer right?

Exactly.

And yes, this is certainly not the first time this kind of thing has happened, but to be so open about it!

Yeah, it seems like if it isn't technically collusion they don't care how it looks. Humphries should definitely fire him, he clearly doesn't have his best interests at heart.
