The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Recommended Posts

Since it seems no one took note of my last post, let me reiterate:

"They also could take on some of the Magic’s burdensome contracts, with roughly $9 million of cap space available even if the Rockets add Asik to Lin, not including the room that could be opened by trading or releasing players with non-guaranteed contracts.

The Rockets have taken the Lin and Asik contracts into account when negotiating with the Magic, according to a person with knowledge of the process. They still would have room to make that deal after using the amnesty provision to remove Luis Scola’s contract from their books."

Which debunks Ric Bucher reporting that Houston won't be able to take back any bad contracts IF Asik isn't matched. This will likely be regurgitated more and more once Asik is signed, so I'm letting you guys know not to believe it ahead of time.

9 MILLION NOT ENOUGH BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OTIS WAS OUR GM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jarrod

Sources: Dwight Howard is ready to join Lakers. If traded to Los Angeles Howard will re-sign long-term with team after 2012-13 season.

I think something happened after he won the dunk contest. I don't remember this Dwight before he won it, and I certainly know this Dwight after he won it. Was he always like this but no one knew/noticed/cared? Just seems like a complete flip on his attitude, and it seems like it started after he won that darn dunk contest.

I don't disagree.

Winning that dunk contest is when he turned into "Superman", and when he turned into Superman is when he really became the top NBA superstar that he is right now, coupled with 2 consecutive trips to the ECF and an NBA Finals appearance.

I hate how he says "sources". As if he knows anybody outside of Dwight and maybe a pal or two of Dwights.

As if he is included in some network where he gets info on the NBA from agents and whatnot.

He's a Dwight lackey, and hopefully this crap ends soon enough and he is shipped out for the rights of Slamadongdong Machuski.

Dwight Howard has long coveted the Brooklyn Nets as his next landing spot, but after a summer filled with daily rumors of four-team trade proposals, the six-time All-Star has moved on from his Big Apple infatuation and is locked in on joining the Lakers, according to sources.

The Lakers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly discussing a three-team trade that would send Howard to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the Cavaliers and Anderson Varejao and multiple draft picks to the Magic.

Howard has always been impressed with the Lakers’ winning tradition and intrigued with the off-court opportunities that come with playing in Los Angeles.

Questions about his role with the team, however, became an early concern for the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Howard has since moved on from those concerns and is confident he will be an integral part of a team that will have a chance to compete immediately for a championship, according to sources.

The Lakers are reportedly ready to make the trade, but first need assurance from Howard that he’ll commit to the team long-term. Sources say Howard is “excited” about the opportunity to play for the Lakers and will re-sign with the team when his contract expires at the end of the 2012-13 season.

Dwight really doesn't want to go to Houston.

All the more reason to send him there.

He's determined to choose only the teams that have nothing to offer us. And no, I don't want Bynum back in a trade.
