You're Fat, Pat!

My plea to those attending Magic home games:

Recommended Posts

You guys can't have it both ways. You can't say j rich, hedo, duhon, etc are horrible in one breath then complain about is losing against "a similarly talented team" in the next.

If you put our roster next to theirs (not counting dwight) there's not one player on our roster that I'd take over his counterpart on the pacers. Not one.

This. Maybe I'd take Jameer over Indiana's PGs, maybe. But he played pretty awful last night and didn't help things at all.

I think our fans are just too used to winning that they expect it no matter what garbage we put on the floor. It doesn't suprise me that we are getting blown out, there is nothing about our team that indicates we are any good. This team has no redeeming qualities, at all. Talent wise, we are on the same level of the Bobcats, Wizards and Hornets. But at least some of those teams have some size and athleticism.

Glen Davis has been our best player, GLEN FRAKIN' BIG BABY DAVIS. Yet, people are pissing and moaning that we got our asses handed to us by a team with a top 5 record in the leauge in a playoff game? Come on. If Jameer, Hedo, Ryan, J-Rich, etc. won't hit shots, there is almost nothing we can do. Hell, that is the case even if Dwight was playing. Without him out there the margin of error is paper thin.

How bad are our players and how bad is the system theyre playing in? Food for thought.

System has already proven to be successful when given the correct pieces

Look, cut the guy some slack. He said Indiana is far more talented. In reasonable he meant we should not be getting blown out every 1st and 3rd quarter of a series. It's like someone bashing their head on the wall and doing the same stupid thing over and over and over again.

Indiana "is FAR more talented"...FAR being the key word here. We don't have our best player, the one guy our ENTIRE offensive scheme and philosophy is built around. What we DO have is players that YOU and 90% of the rest of the board complain about on a nightly basis (rightfully so at that), BUT in the same sense you expect THAT team to contend against the very same team you agree that is FAR more talented?!

I'm sorry, I just fail to see your logic here...

Edit: For the record, TBT said "flat" more talented...YOU said "far". So...

What would our "success" have been if Garnett was healthy? They still took us to 7 games.

It just seems like every player we bring in here is uncomfortable with Stan's complex systems, we never create offense off the dribble, and guys who supposedly can do that a little bit, they come here and all of a sudden are garbage.

Arenas' PER dropped from 14 to 9. His FG% went from 40 to 34, his 3% went from 32 to 28.

Carter saw a FG% drop, a PPG drop, a 3% drop, assists drop, PER drop 2 points.

JRICH went from averaging 19 a game to 14 a game. from shooting 47% to 43%, dropped from 42 to 38 from 3. He was a 19 PER player with Phoenix and a 13 PER player here.

Q was a 13 PER player in Miami and dropped to 8 here. Scoring dropped from 9 to 4. Went from a 43% shooter to a 34% shooter and dropped from 40 to 29 from 3.

We bring in decent players and they come here and play horribly.

Otis isn't a good GM (the Hedo trade says it all) but I find it hard to believe that every player he goes after just forgets how to play basketball.

Don't want to turn this into a bash Stan session, but this is a good observation. When post trades last December the Magic when on 9-0 run, they apparently had more "free reign". That mojo was lost when they started "practicing." There could be truth to Stan's system being too difficult. Look, even Brandon Bass is balling now after he left us. It has been deemed his "best season yet." Good observation, nonetheless.

Are you serious? Our system is the only system Hedo has been able to look like a legit NBA starter with in his whole career. We have NO athletic guys except Earl, who has a terrible basketball IQ, our shooters all have a lot of NBA mileage on them except Ryan who just can't seem to show up in a game, and the centerpiece of everything we've built our team around isn't playing. We are relying on an overweight center to carry the load for us. But nope, it is stupid SVG's sytem holding back all these stud players from wreaking havoc in the playoffs.

How has Carter looked since leaving here? Is that Stan's fault as well? What scoring option was Jason in PHX? Look at Gilberts percentages prior to coming here, specifically his numbers since he first got injured. Do you honestly believe that guy had anything to offer prior to coming here? How many mins did Q play in Miami? You know what Q's other offensive strength has always been? His post game, should we have put him in the post and clogged the lane more for Dwight?? Otis hasn't brought in decent players, he's brought in guys on the decline. I would say that watching them decline AFTER they leave here would be a good indicator of that.

And yet we've seen Carter and Arenas and Q and JRICH all come here and look horrible in Stan's system. It took Ryan 3 years to know Stan's stupid defensive system enough to where he gained playing time.

Even Steve Kyler said it today. Stan's system is extremely rigid and leaves no room for free-lansing. Guys have to play in Stan's system 100% or they don't play.

Stan's an overrated coach. He doesn't make adjustments and doesn't get guys looks at what they're good at. Watch our offense. It's a joke. We make 4 passes before we even attempt to get inside the lane.

Think about all of those players you just named and tell me they were in their prime coming to Orlando...

You don't think Stan is a good coach? You're in for a treat once he's gone.
