Zara 74 Report post Posted April 22, 2012 my argument that there is a lot of "thread hording" on here where there's so much other dribble in here that god knows how hard you have to look to find actual discussion about a possible SVG replacement. Don't doubt it, you have a valid point that everybody aknowledges - but you must also see that there's a trade-off inherent in the situation. Too many threads or too many pages, where's the optimal? I guess a decent rule of thumb would be a new thread for a new 'news item' - ie, Dwight injured, Dwight wants new coach, Stan resigns, Alex becomes coach-GM-player :D, the lot. A new thread for every scenario, thought, fiction or rumour would make the board even harder to read through.. Also, for your civilized responses in that difficult thread page :shard:
fan for too long 2 531 Report post Posted April 22, 2012 Mike D'Antoni an Offense minded coach with a defense minded assistant would be a good combination. D'Antoni was an assistant coach on the last Olympic team. Has Stan ever been offered that job? NO You can be tough on your players, but barking at them on every darn play is not good coaching, Do you see Pop or Jackson doing that, very rarely.

NO Wait, so now we are going to use who has coached the Olympic team as a criteria for who we should hire as a coach? In that case, let's get Jim Boeheim and Bob Knight on the phone. Then Stan is your man. HA Ha

He was an assistant because of his years of experience with international ball. Oh and how did that work out for the Knicks by the way?

Wow you aspire to be a moderator. Way to set your goals high. As for D'Antoni with the knicks. I'd say they look pretty damn good with Lin,(a player who could not keep a job in the NBA with what 2 or 3 other teams) Mike D. did a pretty damn good jpb with the Suns, but forget about that remember the Knicks without Lin. Selective memory is a great thing.

Selective memory is a great thing. How many titles did Phoenix win again? Why did they keep falling year after year while D'Atoni changed nothing? Who was sitting on the bench while Lin was playing well and when that certain someone came back how did they look? You're right, selective memory IS a great thing. Because he couldn't get CarMElo to buy into the team scheme, he's a bad coach? He didn't win in Phoenix because he ran into the Spurs year after year. One team he couldn't get by. The two years they had a good shot, Duncan hit a three and STAT got suspended for coming to Nash's defense after Nash got bodychecked into the boards. We bring in Mike D and that probably helps us get Nash. Have we not seen the last couple weeks how good our team can be offensively up tempo? Now you add Dwight to sure-up the defensive end (kind of like Chandler was doing before MElo came back). Mike D would be a good fit here. JRICH had good years with him, he would be a recruiting tool for Nash, and Dwight would probably average the 25-15 we all know he can when used correctly. Isn't that the same type of thing you guys are *****ing at Stan about? Getting the most out of players? Adjusting schemes? He didn't win in Phx because he ran into a team that defended his offensive team and they could not stop SA because they never once paid attention to D. Bring in Mike so we can get Nash...how the F does that help us long term? How long do you think Nash is going to play? Aren't we already a team that plays crappy D outside of Dwight? So you bring in Nash for a year or two so we can get open shots except there is one problem, you know the same problem we've had forever, we are already a jump shooting team! Nash isn't and D'Antoni aren't going to turn any of our current players into guys that can get their own shot and get to the line when those open shots that we've been getting aren't falling.
