Otis Smith On Players Using Twitter

Recommended Posts

I think Otis meant more towards the way some players use it to dive too much into their personal lives, which in turn puts a bad image of themselves in the public eye.

Obviously. . . what you're describing twitter as is probably what 20% of the people use it for.

lol, it's not like he stopped what he was doing, set up a press conference, and shared to the world what he thought about twitter. I have never understood posts like this one. . . what is Otis supposed to tell them? Oh well I don't think ShefGator2 cares about what I think in regards to Twitter so I'm gonna have to pass up on that question. . .

Hey, I'm angry and bitter (at least until we resign Dwight). What can I say? I know Otis didn't lose valuable time away from the phones to give the interview. It's just annoying that with all of Magic Nation awaiting some good news this offseason, the only thing we get to hear from Otis is his opinions on Twitter. Not faulting the guy for answering a question. Just wanting to hear something from him other than this.

Understandable, but we won't be hearing many news til draft night anyways (luckily it's in a week), and it's an interview from OSen. . .

"all of Magic Nation"

You speak for everyone? That's pretty arrogant of you.

Uh, yeah, I'm pretty sure I can go out on a limb and safely say that anyone who is a Magic fan is awaiting "good news this offseason". Pretty sure that anyone that is awaiting the opposite of "good news this offseason" as it pertains to the Magic is likely not a member of "Magic Nation". And, now, the defense rests. Mr. Baez, please take notes.

I had no idea that one either had to wait for good news or wait for bad news.

I had assumed I could just go on living my life.

Evan Dunlap @ @freemaneric plus, after the gun incident, when Arenas sought Smith's guidance, 1st thing he told him was "get off Twitter"23 minutes ago Favorite Retweet ReplyBQRMagic

Evan Dunlap @ @freemaneric Smith said something like (and the actual quote is somewhere) "maybe if he stopped Twittering he might have a contract offer"24 minutes agoBQRMagic

Evan Dunlap @ @freemaneric Barnes had wondered, via Twitter, why the Magic hadn't offered him a contract.

From my view, looks to me like Arenas has some Cluster B Personality Disorder symptoms. Lots of brilliant and accomplished people do, though such comes with drama.
