Potential Bigs We Can Acquire? (Post-Trade Deadline Edition)

Recommended Posts

Wheres you evidence of ZBo and defense in the post? Dude takes more vacations than Obama in the post.

I rather have an young, athletic, Bass whos striving to play defense then a vet who treats it as a disease his entire career.

I would be down to have Mayo on this team but hes not someone you break the bank for. Your riding on that "p" word and thats not a sure thing keeping Dwight in town. Championships is the ultimate thing to keeping him. Not young prospects. Proven commodities. Thats where Otis should be looking.

Break the bank? This is Brandon Bass we're talking about. This is a trade that could perhaps make the team better this year and definitely make the team better next year while also giving the team a better future.

The trade I was referring to was with JJ Redick and Bass involved. Just my opinion but I wouldn't give up those 2 together just for Thabeet (so far a big stiff), Mayo (potential) and ZBo (no defense even in his contract year).

The Hornets will likely be in pursuit of New Jersey Nets forward Troy Murphy(notes) once the Nets reach a buyout agreement with him after the trade deadline. Nets coach Avery Johnson made clear he didn’t want Murphy after the three-team trade that brought him from the Indiana Pacers. Trade talks have gone nowhere for Murphy, who has an expiring contract. Nets GM Billy King will ultimately work a buyout to free Murphy to sign elsewhere.

In addition to the Hornets, several other teams are expected to show interest in Murphy, including the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Dallas Mavericks, sources said.

Not sure where trading JJ came from. . . my biggest pitch here is to be able to shape some sort of future into the team while also staying competitive. I really don't like the idea of Dwight leaving and having to watch Arenas/JJ/Hedo/Bass/??? for a year or two.

Murphy would be an idiot to sign with the Celtics. I think he'll choose from the Magic, Heat, and Mavs if he gets bought out. Otis has ties with him in Golden State so I think there's a good chance he comes here if boughten out.
