That's generally the idea. . . perimeter defense in the NBA has been a thing of the past ever since handchecking (and obviously 3 second rules), and it's usually better to make your opponent work hard on both ends. Granted this is only one example, but look at Pierce last year. LeBron may be a good defender but only for about 5 minutes a game when he actually cares, but it was his offense and making Pierce struggle defensively that had Pierce look like crap. Otis will be hard pressed to get a superstar quality player AND unload Lewis' contract in the same deal. I can't imagine why any GM would agree to that.
