Yeah, but this is a new hypothetical situation dependent on another hypothetical situation happening.

 

I say we map out the franchise for the next 5 years based on these hypothetical situations, then we can all be disappointed and blame Otis when none of it comes to fruition.

If we get Okafor we are stuck with Okafor. Unless he has some kind of break out season while with us NOBODY will want him which would suck for the summer of 2012/13.

Sad part is that people have been doing that. Before any of the CP3 rumors, our team was "alright". After the whole thing blew up and eventually got shot down, people started to really yell out profanity to Otis Smith, as if he actually had the upper hand in the trade and just didn't do it because he didn't want to...

Not only that, but this whole "super team" business developing in our backyard is making people angry Otis hasn't made a big move to counter, as though he had the assets to do so. Hell, he still may, if everything falls into place when the trade deadline comes around. I can't imagine how these wimps would be reacting if these boards were around when Gordan Giricek was often our second/third option.

Sometimes people don't actually realize how hard these things are to get done and how unlikely they are to happen. I mean, I can't even name the last time 3 all-stars in their primes joined the same team through FA at the same year, and because this happened all of the sudden Otis is a terrible GM for not thinking about doing it and Pat Riley is god, even though everything else indicates Riley hardly had anything to do with it.
