Like was just mentioned what are you talking about. He has made changes. JJ has played more this series then any of the other ones. Gortat and Dwight have played together on the court more then they have all season. Just because the lineup changes haven't worked doesn't mean he hasn't tried some different things. Naught-Nole-Magic 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 we havent tried it yet... but id like to see what a lineup of Jameer, JJ, Rashard, Gortat, and Dwight would do. It could free up Shard on offense having Pierce on him... and likewise, on the other end, his length may make life difficult for Pierce. Gortat has played exceptionally well, imo, and can play KG. JJ has been been a REAL positive for us this series. idk, maybe im reaching... but who knows, it could work.

The problem is that with the exception of Jameer, none of those players can create their own shot what so ever. Like it or not we need Vince in this series to win. He was great in game 1 (one could say he and Meer were the only two who showed up), not so much in game 2. I like forcing Pierce to guard Rashard though. Take that ***** down into the post and make him work.
My 6th Rebuild 6 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 I think you have to make Boston play more lateral defense. They are older and slower. They will not be able to keep up and Doc will be forced to take offense out of the game for defense. Shard needs to roam the corners. Dwights post ups need to be on the move like in the 2nd half. No one should be camping the 3 pt shot while Howard posts. Keep moving. Keep the Celtics running. Keep moving. Push the ball up the court. On rebounds outlet the pass to the nearest ball handler to get the ball up the court fast, does not have to be Meer every time. Keeping Pierce and Allen out of the game for Tony Allen helps limit their effectiveness and takes them out of rythym. When Tony Allen is in the game, move Meer to guard him and have Barnes guard Rondo. Make KG beat you.
30Assists 342 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 Some of the calls have been questionable, but the Celts are full of veteran players that know how to make a non-foul look like a foul (like falling over for no apparent reason). We aren't going to win this series on the foul line - it just isn't going to happen, even if the calls go our way (why start now?). No - the Celtics are just playing really, really good and somewhere between sweeping Atlanta and waiting for the green guys to get past the LeBrons, the Magic lost their edge. We've had about 4 good quarters so far in this series - too bad they haven't been in one game.

A BETTER DJ 12 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 The main offensive killer I see is the quick shots with no rebounders in position. Sometimes we are chucking up shots with nobody even close to the basket, and fading away on shots when we don't have to. We need Vince to go to the hole every time he gets the ball, get D12 the ball on the move with better timing, and gang rebound! Most of the Celts are pretty slow and we can catch up to them if they break out. On D we need to keep 2 active bigs on the floor and keep Rondo out of the paint. Let's focus on Pierce, Rondo, and Ray Ray and make everybody else try to beat us!
Butterfly 3 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 It is over. We are not going to beat Boston on their homecourt. Boston is the better team, and SVG has been outcoached. End of story.
