When you look at it from a pure physical standpoint actually yes Bass would be the ideal person to put on LeBron. He's big, strong, good footspeed, has long arms, and could really make LeBron expell a lot of energy trying to get past him.

Unfortunately though the physical side is only a small part of guarding LeBron. Bass just isn't a very smart defender and LeBron will exploit that advantage all the way to a series win.

The best LeBron strategy is just throwing Barnes and Peaches at him full tilt for an entire night while Dwight shadows. If foul trouble starts really going bad then maybe calling on Bass, but thats only in an emergency.

Bass doesn't have near the footspeed or quickness to guard LeBron. All LeBron would do is isolate him and Bass and drive on him all night. Bass' assignments will be the Udonis Haslem's and Paul Millsap's of the NBA, and that's about all he can handle, especially until he gets his head straight.
