It's going to be an interesting year, that's for sure.

Good news for baseball, and MLS (if they can get their labor agreement settled).

This happened before? Wow.

I find this funny... That even recent history is a mystery.

lol @ MLS. Sorry. it's just hard to believe they're gonna be watched by anyone, no matter what the situation. It's almost as if the league doesn't really even exist still. But ya never know I guess...

Do you believe that lower salaries for players will affect ticket prices?

no but it will help the league/owners not lose money, therefore no lockouts

btw what exactly happens in a lockout? i was too young to remember what happened with the one in 98, jus remember shortened season

Your understanding of lockouts is backwards.

A lockout is, metaphorically, the owners locking the players out of the arenas, forbidding them from playing. If a lockout occurs, it'll be because the players and owners couldn't agree on financial terms.

So saying: "Lower player salaries would prevent future lockouts" is stupidly incoherent nonsense. The owners are going to try to force lower salaries, and the players won't agree to them. That's why the lockout will occur.
