First of all...it wasn't a straight up trade if Lee for Anderson. Think about it.

 

Secondly, I wouldn't trade Gortat at this point. I think he is a top 5 center in this league...having him back up Howard isn't even fair. Gortat for Lee? Please.

It's not that, there just isn't a reason to make that trade. You'd be creating a hole at backup center and getting a player back at a position that is already stacked.

 

It has nothing to do with Lee's abilities or Gortat's. There isn't a need for him.

No, I would not trade Gortat at this time. Who would back up Dwight? Foyle? No way. Anderson is better than Lee.
