18 teams enquired about Marcin Gortat

He has a good contract and it would not hurt the MAgic at all to give him a shot at the starting PF position and move Lewis back to the SF position. WIth a team like Miami that will be looking to constantly drive the lane you need those big bodies out there to stop it.

    Otis anticipates matching JJ

Who would have ever thought JJ would get a contract like this and Adam Morrison would be close to out of the league at the same time.

One is a very good offensive player who can play off the block, but it kinda 'meh' on defense, while the other is a great defensive player who cant leave the low post and is kinda 'meh' on offense. How is that redundant? EXACTLY! having to big guys will almost certainly force teams to throw up jumpshots rather than driving to the glass! they could even take a chapter from each other dwight can learn offense al and Al can learn to play better d from howard. If this is true, then why not just keep Gortat for his defense and play him WITH Dwight and hope his offense comes around. I would much rather pin my hopes on Gortat's offense coming around more so than Jefferson's defense. Defense is much harder to get a player to do than offense.

The way to Beat the Heat

Back in the late 80's early 90's the team that did not look that great on paper against teams like the Lakers, Bulls and Celtics was the Pistons. They won because of hard nosed defense. Because of this we have to change our stretch 4 offense and have to go with a BIG line up. We have to clog the lane and turn them in to jump shooting team. The thought of Wade and LBJ driving the lane at will is not what any fan of any team wants to see, because it becomse all free throws. Saying this, a few things have to happen. Dwight HAS to start shooting his jump shot more so he is not so one dimensional. Gortat cannot be traded. He has to be given a lot more floor time. I even would say he should be given a chance to start. The bottom line is the Magic have to improve in a lot of areas, but nothing that is beyond the scope of possibility. Since the Heat do not have a big man to check Dwight one on one, playing two big men like Gortat and Howard will cause them all types of problems. Moving Lewis to the 3 position means LBJ has to guard him and vice versa. Yes LBJ will torch him, but he will torch anyone we have even if Barnes is brought back. LBJ had problems with Hedo when we played the Cavs. The bottom line is each of those Heat players are going to have to work on both ends of the court for teams to have a chance to beat them. Just my two cents. But if you are going to pay Gortat the money he makes and you cannot find a good trade for him, you have to use him to your advantage. No other team has two bigs like the Magic. It should be up to Stan to figure out a way they can co-exist on the floor together. WE have all seen how Howard and Gortat can play on defense together when they are locked in. NO ONE gets easy buckets then.

I actually think he'd force a S&T to us over that. Why? He would love to have a big man like D12, but another wing like wade is just competition. I think Lebron goes to a big market like NYC or LA if he actually does leave. Don't get me wrong, Miami will get at least 1 stud FA. I am willing to guess it will be Bosh and possibly a B+ guy like Gay. I will bet it will not be Bosh, it will be Amare.

From the bench? You worried about unrilly fans?

Magic have to get it done this year!!!

I love our team right now and think we will win the Ship this year. But looking to the offseason and realizing we have salary issues in Barnes, JJ and JWill, you have to look at what can be done and still make the team better.

Wade I see staying too.. but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Chitown. But one thing is for sure... I do NOT want Jermaine O'Neal in a Magic uniform after I witnessed his performance in the first round. Failur

By the way it feels good to have a team that just can add small pieces in the offseason, instead of having to find multiple big pieces. oh the horror of the days of DeClerq and Garrity. It still gives me nightmares. I still think we should offer up a package of Lewis, Gortat & JJ for Bosh and Hedo. I know we would not get Bosh for nothing. But to trade a starting Center, a starting PF and a top 6th man to the Raptors for Bosh who will walk and the bloated contract of Hedo makes a lot of sense for both teams. Only reason why Lewis's numbers were down this year was because the team had to share the ball a lot more with a deep Bench and Vince Carter. Heck I would throw in Anderson or Bass to make that trade happen. It makes so much sense for both teams.

A few things to note as to why the Magic should be playing with a sense of urgency. 1st - is you never know how many chances you will get to win it all, just ask Charles Barkley and Karl Malone. 2nd - It should be in the minds of the players this is their chance to close the "Orena" down the right way. 3rd - Considering how the balance of power could take a monumental shift this year, the Magic need to get that first Ship so they can have that confidence heading in to next year that they are the team to beat no matter what any other team does. I started thinking about it. What makes the most sense for potential free agents. I wanted to just put a few things out there on the big names and what makes the most "Basketball" sense. Lebron and Bosh to Jersey. The best team to go to for Lebron is the Nets. You could list the litany of basketball reasons starting with their roster and potential top pick to the fact they have a boat load of cap room and could sign two top free agents. Just think, you know BC in Toronto would S&T Bosh if he thought he would lose him for nothing. He would easily take a package of say CDR, Yi Jianlian and some filler versus getting nothing. So Jersey could easily "Net" Lebron and Bosh. Wade & Shaq to Chicago. They play well together. Noah is more of a 4 than a 5. THis is the best the Bulls could hope for without trading off players. Johnson & Amare to Miami. If Miami loses Wade to his hometown of Chicago, they have to move fast. Bringing in Florida Native Amare and now to be cheap Joe Johnson would be a good consolation prize. It allows them to NOT gut anymore of their roster and can use Beasley as Trade bait. CJ Watson, Jermaine O'Neal and/or TMAC to Orlando. All of these players want a chance at a ship and easily fit in to what the Magic are doing long term and short term. I like the idea of adding O'Neal because he showed he has some left in the tank this past season. NY Knicks get nothing. I cannot see what players will want to go there unless they get a top talent like LeBron.

  13. I could care less about Celtic fans, they are barely understandable because their english is like white gheto. It is like a form of ebonics for white people. I always thought they sounded like someone with down syndrome eating. Just saying.

The Nets also have a potential to get John Wall. They have the room to sign two max players if those players take a million or so less each. Even if they sign JUST LeBron and get Wall. That lineup will be dam near unstopable. THis buds for you CLee. unstoppable??? yep that too
