Its Official! Barnes A Magic! [update p.24]

I'm happy about getting Matt Barnes for less than 2 million dollars to start with, that's pretty amazing to me that this guy hasn't gotten 3.5, 4 million dollars yet, at least.

 

Great job by Otis (and Dwight), I'm still kinda stunned that this was pulled off for the money/exceptions left available.

 

Dwight, VC, Rashard, Jameer, Gortat, Bass, Neo, MVPietrus, Barnes, Redick, Johnson... this roster is 9-11 deep (depending on your opinion, I would personally say 10) for their roles. Not to mention the Hedo TPE.

 

The Barnes signing takes a bit of the sting away from losing Lee, talent wise.

 

One down, one to go. Let's go get C.J.!

This makes me happy. I am originally from the Bay Area, so I've been able to see a bit of Matt Barnes play, especially during that famed Dallas series. I like the kid (lol @ me calling him a "kid" when he's 3 years older than me). He's real scrappy, hustles hard, and knows how to hit a shot. This is a great pick up for us. As someone said earlier, this does kinda take the sting out of losing Lee.

I like the rough tough scrapping Barnes will bring.

 

He's the type of guy who will chop Gasol over the head for fouling Dwight, yet we can cover him being ejected. While Alston was here (and the only point) we couldn't cover that. Plus even though he's a bit rough, he's also a team player, not a wanna star.
