God hates Magic fans 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I think this is the year he's going to win it, he's much more of a force defensively than i've seen him, he's smarter and doesn't over challenge as much. 15 rpg+3-4 blocks and solid man to man=DPOY IMO

Skywise316 211 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I think there's a heavy chance for it if he can continue at this pace. He should end up right up there with Garnett. Maybe Josh Smith if the Hawks can make the playoffs again.
barnettej 263 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Its a long season, but if Dwight keeps going he might have a chance to score a Double Trophy (DPOY and Rebounding).
Shine88 89 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 You should change it to Dwight for MVP.
Miller4Prez64 1 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 It's four games man....we still have to play 78 more games this season. I'd wait until we're atleast 30 or so games into it until we even start considering awards.

no_ma'am 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 there aren't many players that make a bigger impact on the defensive end of the floor than dwight. The thing about blocks is that the better you get, the more your numbers decrease because people go in trying not to get their shot blocked...which is good from an overall team perspective, but it won't get the player good numbers. If you watched dwight tonight vs chi you could see that they stopped going at him by the 4th quarter. He completely took rose out of his game. Rose likes to drive at the basket and dwight blocked two of his shots tonight and he stopped taking it in. He still had a decent game, but his assists went down because he couldn't drive and kick. When the bull guards did get past our guards (happened often) dwight forced them to stop and pass the ball off or put up a pitiful shot. Our team would be one of the worst defensive teams in the league if it wern't for him.
