I think this is where we use that good ol' TPE. -
Break down of the cp3 trade (to big for the cp3 thread)

^ So far, yeah. Terrible metaphor, but it's been that kind of day in the FA market and with such lucrative deal's being handed out.. I'm just going onto say he isn't bi-annual money, he's more.
-
quote: Originally posted by M4G1C:we still have the BAE we could offer cj and still be able to use the full MLE on someone else if need be. with Amir Johnson signing $34M there is NO WAY CJ Watson takes the Bi-Annual, NO WAY. I mean, isn't that why he he signed that 1 year deal, so he could get a nice chunk of change and some security?

Soul Bro, appreciate the update compadre.. If a "Super Team" happens, we use the TPE on Posey ($6.7M), which is part of the CP3 deal, we'll have about $200K. There's NO WAY that nets us CJ. We would have to use part of our MLE to go after CJ, right? I like the idea of a S&T using our TPE, so we still have our Mid Level intact. (that is, if this Paul deal doesn't go down)

it's alive!! Berger Update via OPP quote: Chris Paul, the world's finest point guard, is the player for whom Orlando Magic fans have pined the most since Sam Amick and Tim Povtak reported last week that the Magic had engaged the New Orleans Hornets in trade talks regarding him. That rumor still has life. Ken Berger of CBSSports cites a Western Conference executive as saying a deal sending Paul to Orlando is "plausible" due to the Magic's "deep, deep pockets." More from Berger: To soften the blow from losing Paul, New Orleans would likely insist

If so, some of the folks who wanted to burn his house down in this thread may feel a little awkward about that one. hahaha oh, can somemone fill me in on CP3's twitter remark's regarding "magics in the air"? obviously it isn't there (now), but for those who did "see" it, seem plausible?

The T(urk)PE expires July 9th and Free Agency starts July 1st. I bet Otis is "firing" hard to get something finished before July 1st I can't wait until we get our next update on things. I have constantly checked this thread.(Even though I know nothing will pop up during the weekend.) I believe the TPE could also net us Shawn Marion, plus weren't there rumors of a Pietrus & Gortat for Caron Butler swap? So, TPE+Pietrus+Gortat for Marion+Butler? TPE can't be combined with package of players or assets. I understand your logic, just can't happen. Think of it like a rebate check for $6.9M but we only are able to absorb a single contract worth up to no more than $6.9M. So a Pietrus/Gortat package could certainly net us a Caron Butler imo (especially how Gortat ironically signed the Mid-Level offer with Dallas, we then later matched) I don't want Marion, he's ineffective (as we saw in Miami and now, Dallas) and certainly on the "decline"..

Inside Information UPDATE pg.34 [Antoine Walker?]
Hotshot Hower replied to TragicFan's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
all right, it's time I come out of my shell.. first, PEC, go away, you're killing my eyes with your ignorant/bitter posts. it's speculation at this point (if it comes true or was just talked about).. everything kyler, schmitz, denton is speculation.. so this is exciting news for fans like you and I that live on these boards/"rumor" websites. Isn't that the reason why we have discussions and post links.. Or is it to gain credibility ? To you, maybe.. Cut the guy a break..
