  1. I was just reading this report about why the Mavs said they traded Luka Doncic. I'm wondering if the Mav's excuse or cover up is similar to how the Magic is treating Suggs situation. "According to Christian Clark, Mike Vorkunov and Fred Katz of The Athletic, "In November, Dončić missed five games with what the Mavericks announced as a right wrist sprain. That injury classification was not entirely true. In reality, Dončić was supposed to use time off to improve his conditioning, team sources said." "It was perhaps one of the straws that broke the camel's back. Per that report, "concern built, including with [general manager Nico] Harrison, that Dončić’s body would break down possibly sooner than anyone would suspect. It eventually reached a point where Harrison felt he had to move on from someone who could still one day be a league MVP." The point is, after Doncic missed 5 games last November. the Mavs said it was due to a right wrist sprain, but that was not true. In reality, Doncic was suppose to use time off to improve his conditioning. Now I'm not saying that in Suggs case it's a cover up where the Magic are using a bruised leg as an excuse for Suggs being out so long, but it makes you wonder if it is a cover up for some other serious injury that's keeping him out this long
  2. It's his back, AE, it's his back. Remember the pictures I posted of different times and different games where Suggs fell on his back. The wording on one of the pictures indicated it was a serious back injury. Did y'all see how he grabbed his back while lying on the floor? Now I don't have inside information, but I believe they don't want us to panic about how serious his (back) injury is and how long it will take for Suggs to get back on the court, be it surgery or whatever. "Snoop" (me) TMF, did some research on NBA players who had debilitating back injuries that "put them out of commission" for a lengthy period of time. Larry Bird retired from basketball in 1992 due to debilitating back problems that would leave a normal man in traction for days, one source reported. According to another online article, Ben Simmons had back surgery twice, in May 2022 and March 2024 for a herniated disc in his lumbar spine. Now, I'm not saying definitively that Suggs problem is due to a back injury or herniated disc, but we shall see. I hope I'm wrong. I live with herniated discs and it makes it difficult to perform the smallest task. And by the way, I get leg pain off and on caused by the herniated discs. Edit: In reference to Simmons' leg pain, "Simmons was experiencing low back pain and leg pain, typical symptoms of a lumbar disc herniation".
  3. GET BACK INTO THE GAME!
  4. Edit: That is so wrong! But it's funny.
  5. We are missing wide open shots while Denver is making a bunch. Oh, oh Denver just went deep into their bench and is still 30 pts ahead.
  6. Okay, I'm going to be the "devil's advocate." Maybe the Magic are struggling because of the altitude. There you go.
  7. I don't understand why players on any team argue with a referee. It doesn't do any good.
  8. Jokic gets away with a lot. If one of our players barely touch him, it's a foul. A few minutes ago, Jokic kept pushing the Magic defender off with his arm, and no foul was called against him. It's his size.
  9. Dennis Schröder Traded 3 Times in 24 Hours, Lands with Pistons at 2025 NBA Deadline Wow! That's amazing!
  10. What I'm not okay with is Jimmy Butler, the class clown, having been traded to my Warriors. I hated it when Chris Paul played there last season.
  11. I don't disagree with what you're saying. It happens many times in the nba. The warriors are my second favorite team, and when he was traded to the Warriors, I was okay with it because he played well with the Lakers. The Warriors were not a good fit for Shroeder(sp) and It's possible the Magic might not be a good fit for him either.
  12. Goga!!! Got that hook shot going.
  13. And?, , , er. . .So? (directed at JJZL). I don't know if you read my post some time ago that Suggs style of play reminded me of Michael Carter Williams who played recklessly, out of control and was always injured. The point of my reply to MagicMan1979 was to say that being named to an all defensive team means nothing if you can't stay on your feet. Suggs doesn't help the Magic win games if he constantly gets injured from over-aggressive play resulting in injury.
  14. I respect your opinion, MagicMan1979. I was a fan of the Magic from the very begiinning too. But, in my opinion, these are different times. The defense played by teams today does not hold a candle to the days of the Detroit Pistons--known as the "Bad Boys". I know you remember those days, as at my age, I do also. Remember that game where point guard, Isaiah Thomas, was injured but didn't want to come out of the game? He limped on "one toe" the entire game, and the Pistons won
  15. "He is just not a natural point gaurd" - My reponse: That's why he gets hurt a lot. Playing a position that is not his natural playing position and trying to do too much. "We really need him at shooting guard" - My reponse: Exactly, because that is his natural playing position, a position that does not require hard cutting. "He is a way better defender than guys like Armstrong" - My response: You've got to be kidding me! You don't remember the "Heart and Hustle" duo Daryl Armstrong and Bo Outlaw? They were the talk of not only the Magic but the NBA. Do you not remember he played on the team, not only with Bo, but Nick Anderson, Penny Hardaway, Dennis Scott, Horace Grant, and the list goes on. 16. Yes, we have been saying it. He stays on the floor on his back and butt too much, trying to be a hard-nose defender. . .sometimes landing into the cameramen sitting on the floor behind the basket. Daryl Armstrong was a hard-nose defender, but I don't remember him getting injured like Suggs and missing a lot of games.
  17. I'm here! I just flew back to Daytona this afternoon from my vacation home in Maryland. I'm catching up on comments on the game from posters. I had to prepare for my trip back home, so I couldn't watch the late night telecast of the game. Thanks, MagicOne for asking about me! I do, however, agree with All Eyes On Me about moving AB. I've been saying it many times. I don't think he is the future of the Magic. As a point guard you have to contribute more than defensively. The front office needs to pull the trigger. As my neighbor in Maryland said to me the other day about some warn out sneakers I keep wearing. "It's time to let go."!
  18. Must Read: Mavericks Explain Reason For Doncic Trade Article: Isn't that what Fan For Too Long 2 has been saying should be a concern about Paolo also?. . . his needing to lose weight and get in shape. **Also** Link: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/43678217/luka-doncic-father-calls-mavericks-lakers-trade
  19. It's been removed, but a few minutes ago I saw on ESPN Kendrick Perkins, nba sports analyst, questioned how that deal went down.
  20. But Fultz was not sloppy on defense either. The thing I liked about Markelle was he was very good at breaking down the defense and getting into the paint for layups. As the point guard, Fultz did not run and stand in the corner (that is, before Mosley became coach). He was very good as a floor general getting others involved.
  21. Thank you! I agree. I don't know why anyone thinks he is the future and will develop offensively. It aint going to happen!
  22. Please make it happen FO. For the love of all humanity! Oh yeah, and please save the cats!
  23. I'm so over Cole Anthony and his poutiness when things don't go his way on the court. I am sick of seeing the closeup on the screen of that frown on his face when a foul is called against him. Then he argues with the refs and coach Mosley has to call him off to the side to calm him down. Last night Cole and another Blazers player fought for the ball. Cole stepped out of bounds under the basket, then threw the ball back in to a teammate. He argued with the ref. that he was inbound when the replay showed he was clearly out. I want Cole traded and I don't want to see Suggs playing point guard. He's too reckless.
