MAGIC LOSE Stan Van Gundy to Kings

Maybe the magic weren't meant to have a coach. Jk...but right about now I really don't care who we hire. The three people I wanted: Iavaroni, Billy the Kidder, and Stan VG are all gone. Stuff or Paul Porter,..anybody?

what about Chauncey Billups to orlando?

Landing billups would be a great addition.. What do you guys think of this line up? Chauncey JJ Trevor Darko Dwight I think that is probably one of the most verstatile lineups possible. Great defense with Ariza, Dwight, Darko. Rebounding would be easy with the twin towers. And shooting would be ridiculous with JJ and Chauncey, two of the best shooters in the game.

we need players that can score from 3 point range.

quote: The starting lineup needs a minimum of three players with 3 point range. If we obtain Vince Carter and retain Turkoglu or replace him with Nocioni we would have two players. Add Milicic or a point guard with shooting range (possibly Nelson)that gives you three players and possibly four. Howard would then score twenty + points a night with a reasonable number of turn overs. I agree with you completely. This year the Magic had at most 1 and a half 3 point shooters on the court at the same time (Turk and Nelson). Having more shooters is essential in freeing up space for Howard. I can't seem to understand why Brian Hill was so averse to three point shooting.. Considering that all the top tier teams in this leage (Detroit Suns etc.) are all excellent outside shooting teams.

    What a waste of life

You guys nailed it. This game was painful to watch. I cant believe I wasted 90 bucks per ticket to watch this horrendous coach mislead this team. I don't understand why he did not play Darko more this entire series.. Clearly, Battie is playing awful basketball, and essentially is useless. Why not play Redick? Watching the Pistons nail 3 ptr after 3 ptr.. i just wished the Magic could nail a couple atleast. If there's anything this playoff series has shown us it is this: Darko is a keeper, Dwight must develop his game signficantly, we need a true go to shooter, and finally Coach Hill must GO

Jameer off the bench as six man.... Seriously.....

MagicNoles, I could not disagree with you more. Another season playing point will not make him a true/sucessful point guard. He was a score first guard for all 4 years at St. Joe's. The fact that we barely got 8th place in the playoffs disheartens the fact that we're even in it. We started off the season 13-4, and seemed like Jameer tried everything he could (ie: Horrific Turnover numbers and low assist numbers; and dozens of knuckle-headed decisions)to prevent us from winning. Did you not see the Celtics game? How on earth can you say "then go find a TALENTED pg, but now....hell no"? The most important thing for the Magic this summer is to attain a true point guard (not Jameer)

    Redick

I agree with you magic believer..it was truly disappointing and agonizing to watch the Magic go thru 6 minute stretches without a bucket. I understand he may have been injured, but in general why is BHill so averse to playing him. He is an extremly smart player (help reduce turnover problem), he is an excellent shooter (help prevent scoring droughts), and he has great court vision. Clearly this has been one of the most disappointing aspects (there are many) of Brian Hill's coaching.

    The "Bench Jameer" Thread.

I couldn't agree with this thread more. This season has been frustrating to say the least, and Jameer Nelson is one of the main factors. I've been around the game for a long time, and one thing is certain: Jameer is too short to be a good defender. He plays awful defense, makes too many turnovers and bad decisions, and he does not push the ball enough for fast breaks. Dooling Arroyo and Diener are all much better point guards than Nelson.

Welcome to consistent minutes, JJ and Keyon!

Jav and Military,,I noticed that too, how when Nelson entered the game our 20 point lead vanished way too fast. Why not keep the line up that was working to finish off the game, rather than changing it up and leading to a late game meltdown.
