God hates Magic fans 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Why is it teams that are already near the top of the league can get all stars to make themselves even better? meanwhile teams like ours who have expirings and could really make the jump to elite territory continue to miss out? It's starting to get really frustrating seeing us miss out on everyone..there are only so many guys out there and we have yet to parlay our so called valuable expirings into anything.. magic berto 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 it's because not everybody is so hot on freeing up salary space as opposed to getting talent, other than probably Memphis. New Jersey got Harris in the deal too, we had no chance. Oh, and I'll be surprised if Steve Kerr doesn't bang his head on the wall day after day in a few months time. 30Assists 342 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Also because if you've got a Name, you don't want to go to a team that doesn't have a shot at the title. Of course, your assumption will be that the teams that have won titles in the past are the best to go to, thus perpetuating the myth. So while it's great if you're LA, or the Spurs, or Boston, or Dallas (who got there by tossing gobs of money a the problem thanks to an owner who was willing to fork it over): you're sitting pretty - the choice free agents will come to you. If you're the Magic, who really have won anything? Well, who would want to come here when they could win in Dallas or LA? *******s.
SmackDaddy 30 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 The answer to this one is soooo easy: A GM with balls bigger than 2 day old billy goat.

Honestly the Mavs are going to regret that trade, their perimeter defense is horrible now, Dampier could go back into lazy mode with no one to push him. I hope we can do something, and all these trades just further prove the Gasol trade was bull**** and all about West helping his old team.

victorythagr8 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 The gasol trade was trading nothing for gold, but the shaq and kidd trade was dumb trade for the Mavs and suns. Really the mavs traded their whole bench and their only inside d for a Point guard who only have a few years left. THe mavs actually got worst with this trade.
