2016-2017 Trade Idea Thread

Recommended Posts

Just saw that Monroe got a DNP. One of our biggest challenges to trading Vooch is that Milwaukee wants to trade Monroe, who has a similar game to Vooch.

We have enough shooters.

Mirotic isn't going to make Payton and Gordon better three point shooters. They're killing our numbers (also Jeff green who decided to go 0-7 in the last 2 games)

We are last in the league shooting 41%.

We are last in the league in TS% at 48.8%.

I don't want Payton and Gordon shooting 3's, I want Mirotic and McDermott to space the floor to give Payton and Gordon driving lanes.

I proposed this trade assuming we are out of the playoff race by the trade deadline, Ibaka decides he won't resign, and we try to get something for him rather than let him walk for nothing.

Payton and Gordon have attempted 22% of our threes. Augustin, Ibaka, Fournier, meeks, Watson, rudez, Wilcox, and hypothetically Mario are all premier three point shooters. More three point shooters won't help

Agreed we need a better designed offense one that frees up 3 pt shooters. Better screens down low for guys to run off. And up top. Who on our team does this well?

Easier said than done. Can't wait to see the trades you propose to make that happen.

Agreed. We won't land any all stars because they're not available for trade so the next best thing is to trade for people that have the skills required to play their positions

There might be some that come available though. In fact it's pretty likely. Just can't piss away anymore assets like we've had for players that aren't going to tip the scale. That's how an team turns into an middle rung team stuck selecting 12 in the draft with no prize FA's wanting to come year in and year out. Mediocrity 101.

After the last 4 years I fantasize about being a middle rung team.

Favors might become available.

The Utah Jazz currently possess more than $13 million in cap space, which makes them even more interesting to watch than they already are when they play.

Reason being: Utah's cap space can be used to make a robust in-season extension offer to either point guard George Hill or big man Derrick Favors.

Is a deal starting in that range rich enough to convince Hill, given his well-chronicled fondness for his situation in Utah, to sign off on the extension and forgo his turn on the open market? And what would it mean for Derrick Favors' future if that's indeed the route Utah chooses?

Two excellent questions.
