2017 NBA Draft Thread

If Ball falls to 6, you take Ball at 6. He's a superstar.

Why because Chad Ford says so?

What makes him more likely to be a star than Smith or even Tatum?

Chad Ford doesn't do the draft tiers. Scouts and gms do. He just compiles

.@BianchiWrites says @OrlandoMagic should trade all 4 picks for @kevinlove. As usual, @idocmedia says he's insane. Would you make the trade?

Per 96.9 the game

Bianchi...Sigh...Why can't he just go away?

Kyler:

Dennis Smith, Jr. has wowed virtually everywhere he’s been. He’ll host a Pro Day to help with what’s become a demanding workout schedule tomorrow in Raleigh. There are a number of trade down scenarios that have been kicked around, that focus on Smith, Jr. A number of teams are weighing deals at five, six and seven if the draft board plays out where Smith Jr. is there. It is unlikely Orlando moves the six, but if their target is genuinely FSU’s Jonathan Isaac (as many continue to suggest), moving down a few slots in exchange for value might make sense if they would pass on Smith Jr. and could still get Isaac.

Gotcha.

What's your opinion? Think he's a potential superstar?

sure, he's got that upside. if the things he did in college translate to the pros he's a fantastic player. But I personally don't really like him vs many of the other players that are there because of the potential hurdles he has to make that leap. But he's still got that ceiling. This isn't a situation like mudiay where I saw him go to a sub-standard league and watch him get completely outclassed by 26 year old former division 3 players. I thought his standing as a potential star was extremely suspect. With Ball I just don't like the gamble for the magic when there's a smith out there. If this was 2013 and we were at the beginning of the rebuild, great. roll the dice with the guy with the highest ceiling. But if Ball becomes some sort of Rubio-Sessions hybrid we're just going to repeat the last 5 years again.

And that's why I'm in the Smith camp. High likelihood of being an All star caliber player.
