Justin Jaudon 221 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 he shot 45% in the playoffs from 3. And there was a nice long stretch last year when Dipo was shooting like that. But in the end, they are very similar in terms of 3-point %. I'm not trying to knock Serge; I'm just saying that calling his shooting from the perimeter "lights out" is overstating by far. If his shooting is "lights out", what is Fournier's? I get that he's a 4. But was Shard's shooting god-like, then?
Justin Jaudon 221 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 Mine would probably be: 1. Shaq 2. Dwight 3. Penny 4. T-Mac 5. Shard 6. DA 7. Anderson 8. Jameer 9. Hedo 10. Grant 11. Scott 12. VC 13. Skiles 14. Hill 15. Vucevic I put Shaq over Dwight because he put this team on the map, really, which is the same reason I put Penny over T-Mac.

Justin Jaudon 221 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 When people say Hill, surely they dont mean Grant Hill, right? The man who crippled our franchise for 7 years? That might be a little unfair. The guy did finally come back and have a couple of good seasons. In retrospect, though, speaking of my own list, I'd forgotten it was only two semi-healthy seasons, not three, so maybe I would have put him a little lower. But not much. Dude was really good in 04-05.

barnettej 263 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 I think the list is probably 1. Dwight 2. Shaq 3. Anderson 4. Penny 5. McGrady 6. Jameer 7. Hedo 8. Lewis 9. Armstrong 10. Scott 11. Carter 12. Grant 13. Skiles 14. Catledge 15. Francis 16. Vucevic 17. Oladipo 18. Outlaw 19. Harris 20. Hill 21. Miller 22. Ryan Anderson 23. Theus 24. Afflalo 25. Garrity 26. Redick 27. Fournier 28. Bowie 29. Seikley 30. Howard 31. Mercer 32. Davis Not bad of a list. I would JJ a bit higher but not my much.
Fultz4thewin 2,464 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 Not bad of a list. I would JJ a bit higher but not my much. JJ was difficult because he's on the top 10 list for games played but the majority of his time here he was barely a rotation player. I tried to take consideration of individual peaks, longevity, and team success. If you put value on longevity, there's no way to put him above Garrity who had a similar career but 120 more games in a magic uniform. so maybe you can argue JJ as higher than Garrity because his peak was a bit higher than Garrity's peak. But Ryan Anderson was arguably (and sadly) our second best player in 2011-2012 so I don't think you can put JJ above him. you could definitely convince me he should be above afflalo and Theus. I gave them precedence because both guys were the best players on our team (albeit on down years) and JJ was at best a third option on a 20 win team.
Fultz4thewin 2,464 Report post Posted August 17, 2016 just realized something. I often think about 09-10 as our best chance that we screwed up but I wonder if 07-08 was really "our year". We had a fantastic top 4 with peak hedo, peak magic shard, Dwight entering his prime, Jameer playing fantastic. But we had Evans, Bogans, and Dooling as our 5, 6, 7 in the rotation. We really missed a Pietrus type to provide scoring and defense off of the bench. JJ and Gortat were not who they were yet either.
