Game Thread: Orlando Magic @ Atlanta Hawks

Recommended Posts

It's a talent deficiency -- fellas we just don't have the same talent level as these upper echelon teams -- we have s bunch of C+ and B- players.

It's a mixture of facing teams with worse talent than us along with us overachieving at times vs the better teams. This is where our team is at realistically speaking.

It's not a talent thing at all.

Atlanta knows exactly what they want to do so they've spent years looking for guys that fill a specific role.

We have a bunch of young guys and we're trying to figure out what to do with them. That's why you see guys having one good game then disappearing.

Gentlemen, we are the the thick of the season and we are not a great shooting team. We have got by with some good ball movement and good defense. Right now we don't have either. We'll see who really wants to compete now when everything's not going right. AG is balling. It about time to give him a start or more time. His effort is a constant.

Let's see who comes out fighting in the second half.

Go Magic!

I'm not just talking about Atlanta. I'm talking about vs all the upper echelon teams.

And it's likely why we're gonna have to make a trade sooner or later if we're eyeing the playoffs.

We will have to disagree on the talent level issue because I think that's a huge reason we aren't consistently good. We have a bunch of one dimensional guys that can't contribute in other areas when they're struggling at what they are normally good at.

Dipo and Gordon are really the only exceptions but Gordon is way too raw of an NBA player to be relied upon right now.

I thought Skiles was a defensive specialist and a hard ass. Maybe our guys are just super unathletic and can't implement the gameplan

With a couple of trades and another year under Skiles, the defense should be much better. Usually Skiles' second year is where the improvement is more obvious.
