I'm good with running him at PG for this year. Even if/when we switch him over to SG, it wouldn't hurt to have some PG skills in the mix. Both D'Wade and James started out as PGs, if I recall correctly.

 

I doubt the plan was to keep them there, just that a SG that has the awareness of a PG is a really dangerous weapon to have on the court. All the great SGs had that. It's not like we're winning the championship this year, or even making the playoffs. Better to get the young players some burn and work on the basics.
