The Official Dwight Howard Everything Thread

Recommended Posts

If we are trading dwight to the lakers , i want gasol and bynum and their first.

We have to includein our package jameer and big baby.

The lakers might consider doing that.

Then we can trade gasol to houston for lowry and scola.

Trade j rich for picks and test the market for jj and anderson.

I dont mind keeping hedo and duhon as long as we do above changes.

You propose trading Dwight and not using the opportunity to get rid of Hedo and possibly Duhon as well? Why don't you go ahead and include JJ and Anderson in a Dwight package as well and give away anyone with a bit of value?

You would have to move Hedo at least, because you have to take the opportunity to get rid of that nasty contract to help rebuild. Big Baby will have value, Jameer will have value if he can recapture his game. Hedo has no value. Duhon has no value.

If you are movign Dwight, you have to get rid of those no value players that you wouldn't be able to move on their own.

I agree with you, however we have to be realistic. If we will ever have a chance to get bynum and gasol we will have to send davis and likely jameer to the lakers.

No one wants hedo's contract. He plays well in our system and will expire in 2 years. Same goes to duhon. His contract is bad but not that bad considering he is playing more.

J- rich has to go.

If we can send hedo and duhon for a decent package in return, by all mean..I WILL DO IT. The only team i will see doint that is new jersey. I dont see anytging that interests me there.

If the Lakers don't give up Bynum and Gasol, they don't get Dwight. Besides, we really should be letting him walk via free agency anyway.

The only way to get rid of Hedo and possibly Duhon as well is to trade them in a package with Dwight. Period. No one will take either of those guys off our hand outside of that scenario unless we are getting completely bent over in the process. If we do trade Dwight, and they aren't included (at least Hedo), we're stuck with him.

as much as i hate knicks fans, the idea for dwight/hedo/whoever else for amare/chandler/whoever else is pretty tempting.

first of all, van gundy could use amare/chandler way more effectively than dantoni could use diwght so a quick turn around to championship is basically impossible from the knicks standpoint.

second of all, the whoever else part of that trade could change the course of our history, if we're going to lose the most dominant big man in the nba, you might as well replace him with a huge line up that in the right hands could yield a championship.

our big man rotation would be chandler/amare/davis/anderson/clark, at this point you'd run anderson at the 3 so clark would be the young and very athletic 4, it's very important that we keep clark in a situation like this. the magic have a tendency to send their good athletes packing, and it's very aggravating to watch when we keep the guys that can't play defense as well, then we wonder why we have an early playoff exit. this big man rotation under the right coach could be one of the best we could offer post dwight.

the 'whoever else' part of that equation is very important, if the knicks are starry eyed enough to receive dwight howard, maybe we could then take shumpert (sp?) away from them. sending jameer in the deal, or even sending duhon/redick in the deal. i'm not one for proposing insane lopsided trades, but the knicks aren't very smart considering their history, i have a feeling that they would do something this stupid to get dwight, they basically sent alot of their young talent to denver to get carmello, you might as well ask if we're going to be sending dwight somewhere.

our potential end roster?

chandler/amare/anderson/j rich/shumpert

davis/clark/q rich/jj/wafer

everyone else and duhon.

and yes in my dreamworld i'd throw wafer into any defensive/offensive situation instead of duhon.

considering the other options, this seems to be one of the best post dwight situations.

our major loss other than dwight? we send jameer and hedo, they do basically run the offense, but to tell you the truth, our offense would have to change, chandler isn't going to score 20 a game, amare is, and he isn't doing it all the time with his back to the basket, our shooters would give guys like amare and chandler space to work, and we'd have to include the somewhat transparent 'take it to the hole' game we have now, to which this is where shumpert would come it.

he seems problematic, a shoot happy pg that doesn't want to pass the ball. but he is incredibly gifted, it wouldn't be the magic's future but his own that would be intertwined if you could sit that kid down and show him the system he could be buying into, penetration and pass, he could yield 10 assists per game and an unknown amount of steals if he just concentrated on these two things... but the trick would be convincing him of that.

well i've talked long enough, this is just my two cents on the situation, i personally don't want anything from the lakers, the clippers, the mavericks, and the nets. and i don't want to be trying to figure out what this current team would look like minus dwight, at that point i hang up my magic gear, letting him go for nothing after ample warning of his intentions is just moronic. so were most of our trades after the finals run but that's in the past now, we can help do something for the future, we should do it.

I'd trade Dwight for a chipotle burrito right now. If I when he is traded you cannot take on long term money unless you have a secondary plan.

I used to be all for keeping Dwight till this offseason but after blaming your teammates AGAIN and saying how he loves Boston and how he can't even score on an aging Garnett and whoever that backup center is of theirs, I'd rather get rid of him now! He's a terrible captain and can't ever put the blame on himself. I don't know if this trade has been brought up before but look at this:

Orlando Gets:

Bynum

K. Martin

Dragic

Houston's 1st rounder from NY

L.A. Lakers Get:

Howard

Scola

Duhon

Houston Gets:

Gasol

Q. Richardson

*Orlando immediately becomes way better offensively with a better center on the block and a scorer on the perimeter. Plus a better backup pg. Our bench gets deeper by putting J-Rich to the bench to backup Turk. We also get rid of Duhon and Q's ugly contracts. I know some people are saying get rid of Turk too but if we trade him our offense goes to hell. Nelson can not run the offense himself since he is a shoot first pg. We do take a step back defensively but with a defensive minded head coach, it shouldn't be that bad. We get two first rounders in a deep draft, and plenty of cap space will be available to us in 2013-14. We also stay pretty relevant until then and could possibly be a major threat by having a go to player inside and outside.

*Lakers of course get Howard but also get a another good player in Scola to replace Gasol. Duhon comes along with Howard but they might have a spot for him considering their pg play of late. They could possibly become the team to beat out west.

*Rockets get Gasol which they wanted in the Paul trade scenario before and I know I threw in Q-rich but it could also be Orton or whoever to make the trade work. Q would just be great for us fans cause we are so sick of him! He could also go to L.A. and the trade would still work.

What's this great font on your sig, Verathia? It looks awesome.

It's called Creampuff and the cursive is called English.

Maybe if there was only cheese in it...

Oh you don't want to start that.
