Wizards Insider: VC for Gil *will* happen

Recommended Posts

I see ZERO chance of this happening. Gil is getting paid 17 mil, 19 mil, 20 mil, and 22 mil the next four seasons. Plus if you look at our contracts we are going to have a lot of money to play with in the 2013 offseason when Dwight and Jam are Free Agents and Shard is off the books. We should be able to sign a top flight player to go with Dwight. Plus there is the often rumored CP3 trade that could go down in a year or two. Why would we sacrifice this for a player that will be on the books for 22 mil that 2013 season and will destroy our cap. Plus Gil cant make it injury free through a whole season in the last couple of years...and one more thing. The guy is 28 and would be around 32 when his contract is over.

PASS!!!

The only way this is going to happen is if...

1. Gilbert uses his player option and opts out of the final 2 years of his deal as a part of the trade.

2. Andray Blatche is included.

If either one of those is a no, then no way in hell we make the trade.

if dwight opts out of his contract when he's eligible, we're still over the cap anyway and can only offer him the max and hope he takes it. arenas is a gamble and a pretty big one.

Isnt Blatche injured? I think he is going to miss part of the year. Plus for Blatche to be included some more players would have to be involved like Bass or Anderson. Dont see it happening.

The Wizards would have to include an incentive for us.
