Secretly Space Jesus 670 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Jareth, can you read? I said Cera's in the same spot Gordon-Levitt was in 10 years ago, but that Gordon-Levitt was more talented and seemed to have a greater interest in becoming a more serious, legit actor. 10 years ago. Which was before he made every ******* movie you just listed.

I fail to see the comparison.
ThisIsTheYear 241 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 On the topic (somewhat) of Gordon-Levitt, I thought his character in Inception, Arthur, was the best one of the bunch. He's really a terrific actor.
Secretly Space Jesus 670 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I'm sorry. I guess I didn't realize that Cera had to agree to any part he was offered.

I never said he didn't agree to them. His career is still brand new. Some would argue Juno was a "serious" role for him in the sense that it was an indie dramedy. Paper Heart is another example of it.
PNuT1423 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 i don't think actors who do odd movies early in their career should be looked harsh upon, all the greats have done it, perfect example? joe vs. the volcano with tom hanks.... actually hanks did alot of 'rubbish' films early in his career. ThisIsTheYear 241 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Speaking of repetitive/similar characters, and it's not like he doesn't portray the role terrifically, but Leonardo DiCaprio has played virtually the same character, albeit with different accents, in at least five of his last nine films (Inception, Shutter Island, Blood Diamond, The Departed, Gangs of New York). And I haven't even seen Revolutionary Road or Body of Lies, so it may be more.
