Basketball would be huge here in Florida for 10+years if CP3/D12 made a long term commitment to the magic...added on to the Miami Dbags and it will be great for FL for years and years to come.

I agree. It isn't like there are a ton of tourists who vacation in Florida in the first place... Now imagine the attraction of the new Amway Center and a state that has two Championship caliber teams. Talk about an NBA fans dream. When we face off against the Heat, it would be the equivalent of watching a Championship game. Wow...but this is pure speculation of course Cool

Just my $0.02 on the Paul situation. If Paul really wants to come to Orlando, his agent/camp could let other teams know that Chris will opt out if he goes to that team. Basically a team Chris doesn't want to be at will dismantle their young core to get him and then have Paul walk after two years. This then leaves said team up ****s creek IMO and would hopefully scare them away giving the Magic that much more of an advantage.

we can also get him extended as part of the trade too. I don't know if that happens though.

i thought u couldnt extend a contract until one year before they can become a FA. that being said if we got cp3 then im pretty sure both him and howard would extend both their contracts next summer

Let the criticism begin. Since NJ doesn't appear to have C Lee in their future plans, getting him for Murphy would give them a quality PF and give us the starting SG we need.

Indiana gets a young replacement for Murphy in Anderson and the point guard they've been looking for in Nelson.

NOLA gets pure cap relief in Carter, Ford, and Foster with their expiring deals and a quality, young big in Gortat, as well as a future draft pick from NJ and ORL

I would love to get Azubuike here as well because he brings some very good defense with him. BUT cmon Simmons there is no way in H3LL NY helps us get CP3

I thought the exact same thing

I know I'd be buying another authentic jersey.

One of my co-workers just said, this morning, that if we land Chris Paul he is going to buy season tickets.

As a current season ticket holder, I have to say that landing Paul would certainly sweeten the idea of being a STH.

I know ESPN's trade machine is overused, but I'd like to hear from the board if you think NO would bite at this:

25u1sap.jpg

They free future cap space by getting rid of Okafor and Paul's contracts. They also recieve veteran help along with some young talent.

Lineups:

Paul / Duhon

Redick / Pietrus

Lewis / Richardson

Okafor / Songaila

Howard / Orton

Nelson / Collison

Carter / Thorton

Stojakovic / Posey / Wright

West / Bass

Gortat / FA / Bass

Do people really think we are getting Chris Paul? well i got it 30% likely....The way i see it IF he gets traded its either to Orlando,Dallas or Portland...

Orlando-Best Fit for Cp3/Good deal in return but not the best

Dallas-Good Fit for Cp3/Great Financial deal but less likely to happen

Portland-Worst Fit for Cp3/Healthy Amount of talent Back

No. This sort of thing never happens for the Magic...let alone any team I root for.
