KandiKane 136 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 You wouldnt want to use a gortat and howard lineup against a team that has good shooting big men though... so would depend.

I agree, he has improved a lot defensively this year, but still, I'd take Pietrus or Barnes' d. It all depends on matchups

Skywise316 211 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 Same goes for Bass then, KITNO. I can't trust the man to make a rotation to save his life, not to mention the very end of the game. Pure end-of-game defense: C. Dwight PF. Gortat SF. Barnes SG. Pietrus PG. Redick Anderson and J-Will can be bullied while VC and Bass are prone to mental mistakes. Hell, Shard's guilty of both at times. As far as Jameer.. he's the defensive wild card. At times he can make a great play, at times he can bullied, at times he gets blown by, at times he misses a rotation (see: ATL). You just don't know with the guy. I know MP's a bonehead, but he, unlike the others, is VERY likely to make up for his mistakes with his athleticism. But when it comes to defense, I only have 100% confidence in the five guys above. Dwight and Gortat can lock down the paint, Barnes and Pietrus on the perimeter, and I trust Redick more than either of our regular point guards to keep up with and stay in front of the opposing point guard. Did you see Chauncey back down Redick the other night after a pick and roll switch once? That's right you didn't, because he tried and he couldn't.. and we all know how J.J. defends off of screens.
