Darthmagic 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 I know i'm gonna get flamed for this, but with the injury to Peaches and Matt Barnes' toe issue, would picking up Raja Bell make sense? He's another tough veteran defender who can stroke the three. What do you think? http://basketball.realgm.com/s...e_look_at_raja_bell/

I'd say he was elite during the 06-07 playoffs and a very good defender in the 07-08 playoffs. He's a guy who might be valuable for us during situational matchups i.e. Barnes is in foul trouble, pietrus fouled out of the game, we need someone to cover lebron or kobe for 5-6 minutes. Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 I don't think any of this matters anyhow. Didn't Bell have to be released a few weeks ago to qualifiy for the playoffs?
HerdNation 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 the player must have been bought-out by March 1 to play in the playoffs, so Bell is not an option.

jmmagicfan 302 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 Maybe, maybe, maybe Do we need another wing player for the last 12 regular season games? Maybe Are we interested in signing him for next season? Maybe Is he worth the extra luxury tax? Maybe The problem is, it's too late to add him to the roster for playoff eligibility; so unless we really need him short term, or we are serious about adding him long term, signing him for only 12 games seems pointless. Fultz4thewin 2,464 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 3. If a player is waived in time, what's the deadline for him to be signed? There isn't one. A player who hasn't been on any other NBA roster after March 1 can be signed at any time thereafter and be playoff-eligible. doesn't help in this situation but there might be someone out there we can add who was cut before march 1st
