Soul Bro 1,422 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 Think it is interesting how we have closed the gap in Hollinger's championship odds. Cleveland is now at 21.3%, the Magic are at 21.2%, and the Lakers are at 10%. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds Vegas odds: Lakers-3/1, Cleveland-9/2, and Magic-5/1. http://www.vegasinsider.com/

skinnyhoops 12 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 I don't really pay attention to those reports... Some teams that are playing well now, might not be playing so great in the Playoffs. Anything can happen. I do think the Magic have a good chance to revisit the Finals though. And with last years experience, they should be MORE hungry than ever. Yeah, we SHOULD but we AREN'T. Imagine that... After last nights W over the defending champs, our chances lowered from 21.2 to 20.4 and Cleveland, who wasn't playing and lost their last game to the Bucks, went from 21.3 to 21.7. Playoff odds are odd.

Secretly Space Jesus 670 Report post Posted March 8, 2010 Ok, guys, it's a set of computer simulations. The percentages are literally "Percentage of the time result X occurred". You're looking at a range of answers, not a definite one. Hell, Atlanta won the division in almost 9% of the simulations. Why aren't you angry about that? Captain Hi-Top 791 Report post Posted March 8, 2010 Yeah, I think the close win decreased our margin of victory, but beating (playing actually) the Lakers boosted our SOS. Our rating went from a 107.159 to a 107.074. We lost almost a tenth of a point, while Cleveland picked up .02 points. Their overall record is a little better, but our REC(L10) is better, so is our SOS and SOS(L25%). I'm going to hazard a guess and say that MAR counts a bit more. At any rate, there is only .126 points between the two teams. Add in home court in the ECF's against us, and they still have a slight edge in his playoff odds results.
