^ He did say that he is copying this from another board at the top of the thread.

About the post, I agree 100%, Vince has been one of the most underrated NBA players and it's obvious why, people wanted him to become the next MJ and that never happened, and no one will ever be MJ. Vince has been a tremendous NBA player, a sure thing for the hall of fame one day, especially if he can win now that he is in Orlando. Another thing that didn't help his cause is that he has always played in small markets (Toronto and New Jersey), Orlando just made it to the finals so that will help big time.

Nice post to bring over, wouldn't have read this on RealGM.

It's only a misconception for those that do not perceive correctly.

Anyone who closely follows the NBA knows:

- VC has an amazing jumpshot with unlimited range

- He can pass the ball extremely well

- He can still play athletically

- He is an above average defender

Also, though:

- He's lost a noticeable step

- He doesn't bring it *every* night like he used to

- He's as capable of having 6 point games as he is having 40 point games at this point in his career

- More than ever, he relies on his jumper

Anyhow, it's a mixed bag, but it's an ELITE mixed bag - the dude is still easily a top-10 SG in this league - more like Top-6 IMO.

Hedo didn't bring it every night. Hell, most nights he didn't. He's getting a lot of love for his playoff performance against the Cavs and Lakers, but he had a pretty poor season IMO. He certainly took a big step back from last year.

VC is better than Hedo, great move Otis.

orlando is one of the smallest markets in the NBA. NJ and Toronto are definitively much bigger markets, but with that said the NBA isnt like baseball. Small market teams can thrive and do very well ie, San Antonio, Sactown in the early 2000, Indiana late 90's. UTAH jazz for crying out loud.

I think even on bad nights Vince Carter can still shoot at a higher percentage then turk... there were nights when turk shot 3 for 15 and stuff thats ridiculous... i don't see Vince doing that. I may be wrong...JMO
