Secretly Space Jesus 670 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 So reading through the Slam article and its stupidness reminded me that a few weeks ago, we got into a top 10 all time conversation in the chatroom during a game. I figured, since it's the offseason now, a "Top25 of all time" thread might be something that can generate some interesting discussion. So here's mine: 1. Jordan 2. Wilt 3. Kareem 4. Magic Johnson 5. Bird 6. Russell 7. Shaq 8. Duncan 9. Olajuwon 10. Erving 11. Oscar Robertson 12. Jerry West 13. Kobe 14. Moses Malone 15. Elgin Baylor 16. John Havlicek 17. Isiah Thomas 18. Karl Malone 19. Elvin Hayes 20. David Robinson 21. John Stockton 22. Rick Barry 23. Bob Petit 24. Wes Unseld 25. Jason Kidd

Berto 338 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 I honestly hate these lists, but give me a few minutes to think about it.
Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 1. Jordan 2. Magic 3. Wilt 4. Olajuwon 5. Kareem 6. Russell 7. Bird 8. Dr. J 9. Robertson 10. Kobe 11. Duncan 12. Shaq And then I pretty much agree with the rest of your list except I'd replace Unseld with Barkley and switch Kidd with Robinson.

KillingInTheNameOf 63 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 Russell > Kareem Duncan & Olyjuwon > Shaq Kobe > Dr. J All 4 same reason - D There's also no way I personally could rank Robinson, Stockton, or Kidd ahead of McHale or Worthy. Those two players could shut down 3 positions defensively and were unguardable in the post. Worthy running the wing...makes every fast break that followed it look amatuerish. Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 It's so hard to do lists like this. I mean you have to consider the era they played in, teammates, competition, the NBA in general (salary cap, FA's, trades). Just so much to take in.
