2024/25 NBA Regular Season Thread
All Eyes On Me replied to CTMagicUK's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Yeah, I agree. Fox is a much lower assist guy than people think. Only about 6.5 assists per game for his career. We don’t need another ball dominant scorer, we need someone who can distribute and shoot. -
Very very close to being an 0-7 home stand, with all 3 wins needing massive comebacks, but I’ll take it with how it turned out. I’d add one more positive to your list, Trevelin Queen, and his defensive tenacity. Always nice to have deep finds like that who can fill in when we’re this undermanned.

It worked out so I’m not gonna complain at all, but Cole going improv put Da Silva in a really bad position on the court and we’re pretty lucky he didn’t get called for an offensive foul. Especially with how bad the refs were that night. I’ll take the W and Cole’s nerves of steel!

Magic get Cam Johnson and CJ McCollum Nets get Gary Harris, Cole Anthony, Nuggets pick Pelicans get Jonathan Isaac and Jett Howard New (healthy) Magic rotation for 2025 becomes: Suggs/KCP/Franz/Paolo/Goga AB/CJ/TDS/Cam/WCJ Joseph/TQ/Houstan Damn, that’s a championship contender JI is eligible to be traded on January 2nd. Assuming Paolo is back soon we can roll a Suggs/CJ/KCP/Paolo/Goga AB/TQ/TDS/Cam/WCJ rotation until Franz gets back -

Man, I didn’t think about that, good call. Didn’t realize that the Pels are in last place and a 33 year old like CJ isn’t worth much to them now. His contract is big, but it’s only 2 years so we’d be able to get it off the books before Paolo’s max kicks in. Trading for CJ would cost us one of JI or KCP for salary reasons. I’d trade JI and Jett in a package. Isaac has actually been quite bad this year. Maybe a 3 team trade with picks that brings in Cam Johnson and CJ McCollum? Slow day at work, Let me go play with the trade machine! -
To be fair, how many teams are prepared to be down all of their top 4 scorers?
-
You’re right, Goga deserves probably the most credit. I single out TDS and Caleb because they changed their game in the 4th, Goga was the only guy who showed up for all 48 tonight. Quickly becoming one of my favorite players in team history
-
Thanks! It was miserable for 80% of the game, but cloud nine for 20% so I’ll take it! You can never count these guys out. Don’t matter who’s playing
-
Holy **** what a win!! 21 pt comeback with our backups! TDS and Caleb get all the credit and props to Cole for never losing that confidence in himself to hit a game winner
-
I said it in the Knicks game and it’s true again today. The league has a major officiating problem. This is just *****ing inexcusable
-
Just a horrible half of basketball. The team looks completely unmotivated. I’m mad I paid money to be here. Need to wake the eff up for the 2nd half
-
Really feels like the only reason to not play Cole in a game like today is if a trade is imminent. Nothing else makes sense
-
Suggs needs to be smarter when we’re this undermanned. We can’t afford him in foul trouble every game. AB out means we have zero players that are gonna play all 82 this year… it’s game 34… smh
-
Oh I think the NBA has had similarities to the WWE for a long time, I don’t think it’s a recent development and I really don’t think it’s that surprising either. They’ve at least had to negotiate the CBA so players can’t run to big markets as fast anymore, but if the league had a choice they’d have the championship be NY or Boston vs LA every year.
-
It’s that big market effect combined with the players that the Knicks have. They already get a friendly whistle just by being New York, and on top of that they have 2 of the biggest foul-baiting crybabies in the league between Brunson and KAT. Add in the insufferable cockiness of front runners like Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges and it’s an easy team full of villains to hate.
-
34 to 12 in free throw attempts when one team wasn’t noticeably more aggressive than the other is so sketch. I was at the game tonight and it felt like I was in MSG. Ugh, I hate the Knicks
-
My dream is to play the Knicks in the playoffs with their front runner bull**** ego when we’re healthy. These dudes aren’t nearly as good as they think they are and we’ll beat em with Paolo and Franz
-
We have nobody that can score if Suggs is on the bench if we don’t play Jett and Cole. I get it, but damn is it ugly
-
Cole and Jett both getting DNPs when we’re this undermanned… is this anything?
-
That “technical” on Suggs was all after the play too. They called a foul on Bridges, both Suggs and Towns played through the whistle and a basketball play happened. Completely inexcusable and incompetent to single out a player for that
-
NBA has a serious officiating problem. SMH
-
Also notable, Paolo is still out, but it’s not longer due to injury and is listed as “return to competition reconditioning”.
-
Looking forward to Jalen not having to play out of position for much longer. This is a great stretch for his development as an offensive creator, but primary ball handler isn’t ever gonna be a role he excels in. Tough loss, and a game we should’ve won. Let’s go get New York tonight.
-
Same starting 5 Suggs/KCP/TQ/TDS/Goga. Let’s beat the Heat!! Also, I’ve had some family stuff come up so I’m traveling back home to the O tomorrow morning for a few days. If anyone has extra tickets for the Knicks or Nets games this weekend, DM me please.
