Story of the team for the past 3 years to be honest. Evan’s been like this since we chose him over Victor. We’ve been living with above average role players pretending to be superstars for years, and worse we pair that with thinking the most important position in the league isn’t something we need to invest in.
Safe to say that we’ve regressed to the mean. Only difference between this year and the last few is we’re better defensively, but on our bad shooting nights we’re one of the worst offensive teams I’ve ever seen
The Spurs have been on a tear, owed us a beat down and shot at an absolute historic clip tonight. This was definitely an L, with or without Filip’s daddy.
However, tonight was pretty clear evidence that if we wanna flirt with a playoff spot this year, we can’t trade Nik. I don’t think we’re re-signing him regardless, but if playoffs are the goal, we need him. Our entire offense revolves around him, Bamba is nowhere near ready, and any PG we might get for him would take some time and some losses to acclimate.
AG benched in crunch time? He was having a rough game, maybe got pulled for fatigue. If he got benched for poor play, it’s quite hypocritical to do that to him and let Sir Bricks-A-Lot keep building houses out there.
Yeah, I guess so. It was a half-tank move as well. My problem with it is that it hinders development of young skill position players to have a pg that can’t consistently distribute the ball.
1. Augustin has been inconsistent, but yes, passable. Grant and the limited Briscoe have been god awful.
2. I’m including the off-season in that evaluation.
3. We have, but with a competent point guard rotation we’d be 3-5 wins better.
I thought Weltman and Hammond were dealmakers when we brought em in, that’s what everyone said, but there’s no excuse to go this long being this bad at pg and do nothing about it.
I don’t think anybody is suggesting Ross is untouchable, but he’s an asset to any team and if we can get him at a good price he should be kept. Like, if we can get Ross at 4/32, shouldn’t we?
