All Eyes On Me

My favorite part about the off-season so far is all of the insiders and even the majority of non-Magic fans online loving what we’re doing every time we make a move, and a good amount of our fanbase losing its mind… isn’t basketball fun? lol The only other move I expect is bringing back Moe Wagner, and hell I wouldn’t be surprised if we brought back Kelle on a sweetheart at this point. The depth is insane, probably too deep, but just gotta enjoy the ride because as much as I’ve tried in my years as a fan, I have very little say in what the GM decides to do.

KCP is a huge improvement at the starting 2 offensively, defensively and most importantly from an availability standpoint. I understand you’re disappointed in the off-season so far, but I fully believe we’re better now than we were 2 days ago and I’d love to hear an argument how we’re not.

Feel like it’d be Wendell and picks to bring in a guard. Sexton, Simons, McCollum? I know a lot of people are throwing Cole‘s name out there as someone we’d trade but I’d be shocked. He’s too important to the culture and chemistry of the team.

This has been a really strange approach this off-season. We have too much depth. We’ve once again buried our first round picks. I’m not upset cause the deals have been good deals and we have improved a 47 win team, it just wasn’t what I expected at all. I feel like a trade could be coming, but I also don’t have much faith in this FO to pull one off.

It’s boring as hell, but these are all good tradeable contracts for serviceable players. We’ll be setup for the next time a star demands a trade. But, I’m thinking Weltman doesn’t have splashy in him.

To me it’s about availability. Management finally seems to be moving on from the injury prone guys. Harris and Fultz gone already, feel like they all 3 fall into the same category

Decent money for Goga, Moe def getting the Room exception and JI getting extended rumors makes me think we’re 100% shopping WCJ

Those Hartenstein and Harris contracts are ridiculous. I don’t understand how Tobias Harris continues to get away with this! lol

Could we make a play for Derozan? I don’t even know how that’d work.

Also my last 2 cents on the Paul George stuff is I fully believe we were never going to give him a full 4 year max and we stayed in the running with him until another team committed to doing so.

Maybe we go Gary Trent Jr? Maybe GTJ and Tyus? Feel like the plan was probably KCP and Hartenstein and we went 1 for 2. We still need a backup wing, a play making point guard and a rim running big man. KCP was a win now move, it wouldn’t make since to combine that with big rotation minutes with Jett or da Silva

My hope is that we swing a deal to absorb someone into our remaining cap space like Sexton. There’s no way we’re done yet. We’re nowhere near the apron. CT is right, we’re prob just gonna run it back and overpay MoJo to hit the apron requirement

Really have no idea what we’re gonna do with the rest of the cap space. Nobody left that we could get moves the needle for me at that price. Maybe we make a trade

Seeing 4 year $212 million for a 34 year old and missing out on it doesn’t really make me too sad. $56.6 million as a 38 year old in the last year of the deal too.. woof. George must love playing with superstars that are rarely available.

Probably true… the same podcast where he talked up Paolo and said he wanted to play basketball the right way at his next stop, now he gets to go watch Embiid flop like a fish for the half of the season he’s healthy.. *sigh

The longer it takes George to sign the more interested I get. Philly has been everyone’s forgone conclusion for hours now, but still nothing signed. I’m sure it’ll be nice and boring and he’ll sign with Philly in the middle of the night…. But what if he doesn’t?

There’s some cap gymnastics at play here with Oubre. They are probably going to absorb him into the room exception after they sign PG. The room exception is the same one we’ll use to more than likely re-sign Moe Wagner. Everything is in moratorium mode right now in FA. Just because a player is announced first doesn’t mean it’s the order it’ll be processed to navigate the salary cap.

Nah, sign and trade went out the window when PG opted out of his contract.

I’m not going to give up on PG13 til it’s announced he’s signing elsewhere. It’s been about 3 hours since we signed KCP and it’s been about 2 since it was announced he’s not going back to LA. Why hasn’t he signed in Philly yet?

Def still possible. We could also bail on JI to get back to max money but that’s not likely

Curious to see how much of that is the bump in advanced stats that comes with playing with Jokic. Regardless, he’s a great role player. Strengthens a strength, so it’s frustrating. I like the 3 pt percentage but I don’t like the 4.5 attempts a game
