The way to Beat the Heat

Well, that's been said for the past 2 years yet a month ago, they went all the way to Game 7 in the Finals. And unlike us, they're actually going out there making moves to strengthen their team. Sure the east is easier in the terms of an 82 game season, but with teams like these, and without a pure clutch player like we had in Hedo (Jameer doesn't always show up in the big games), then I'm afraid we're screwed. How is the east easier this year? no notable free agents went west, but two big FA's came east. The east will be stronger than last year. Washington, CHI, Mia were all either just decent or completely out of the playoffs last year. They all should be in the playoff mix at the least next year. ATL will still be a 50 win team probably, especially if they keep Marvin Williams and get Childress back. Even NY has a chance to be a playoff team this year. Charlotte has been making strong strides too, they may not keep up with the pace they have set the last 6 years, but a modest improvement gets them into the six seed perhaps. Not only that, but I like what the Bucks are doing too. Once again, I doubt they run away with the central or anything...but its seems crazy to think the east will be easier just because Bosh went to MIA(TOR was already a nonplayoff team), so the only 'drop off' really will be Cleveland, and while they are the only team to drop off there will be several lottery teams that will be much more competitive next year. I find your Boston comments humorous, yeah they locked up their old players that can still play...to long and onerous contracts...and they added Jermaine O'neal, but that just replaces retiring Sheed and injured Perkins. Imo, they arent better than us off of those moves. All they have done is replace last years center with JO. Everything else will be the same, unless one of their draft picks tears it up. Orlando clearly has moves to be made, but they are addressing their needs-which I might add are completely different than what the majority of the people on this board think. There is NO need/room for a wing on this team unless it is a star wing, and those arent coming here. Now if Redick walks and Vince gets injured, sure we would need a starter wing. But in the meantime our needs are depth at PG, and a starting quality true 4. I was agreeing to davcivic's comment when I said the east was easier - of course in a much broader sense. In the sense that now we don't have to be worrying about the Raptors giving us a run beating us in a game (like they have in the past season), or Cleveland. There are three teams of who I consider stronger than us, the rest we are superior to. You wanna know why the Celtics are better than us? Plain and simple, THEY BEAT US LAST YEAR. Please don't reply with hypothetical what ifs or "we didn't play to our capabilities" like responses. Until we see beat them on the court convincingly, they're superior.

They're not done with just getting Boozer. They're going for more, and it seems like Iguadola is next. If that does come true, then have my word that they'll be right there with Miami. As of right now, Chicago, Boston, and Miami are all better than us. Then you have Atlanta and New York who are just a step below us, but are there nonetheless. The East just got waaay tougher, and unless we don't get some BIG name players this off-season, we'll be regretting why the team didn't win when they had the chance to in 08-10.

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Is there any truth to any of these Melo, CP3, and Iguadola? Or are they all based on speculations? I swear if Otis doesn't get at least two of these players, we have absolutely no way in hell to match against the Heat.
