  2. quote: Originally posted by bballbabe:I wondered about this when i heard the quote before the Boston game. During the game i also thought it was interesting that the commentators said that team were not playing together, but it looked more like 5 people playing one on one. It is possible that Stan meant more than one player, and I would look at our top 3 if i had to guess. I include Dwight only because there is a tendency as a young player to be overly concerned with stats and numbers than winning. I notice that Dirk and KG are two key players who have gone on record saying they have decided to defer more to their teammates because they feel it puts the team in a better position to win. I am just guessing though. bballbabe...I agree with you to include Dwight as one of the players concerned more about stats and numbers than winning. The reason I say this is due to the fact that Dwight does not want to get rid of the ball when he is triple teamed or when he is guarded by 4 defenders. As a result he turns the ball over. Dwight is determined to try and dunk the ball when it is clear that he is going to get striped of the ball. This is one of the major problems that has cost us some games. Don't get me wrong, there are other Magic players who turn the ball over, but Dwight's turnovers could be avoided if he would stop being selfish in the post. I wish Dwight could have learned from KG, who did a very good job of kicking the ball back out when he was double teamed. Oh, btw, KG kicks the ball out quickly when he is double teamed. Dwight wastes too much time (twisting and turning, sometimes putting the ball on the floor).

  5. I think that our boys are not playing "LOOSE" the way they played at the beginning of the season. It seems like they are doing too much "THINKING" on the court and, lately, appear confused. HYPOTHETICAL: Rashard: (thinking to himself) "Coach told me to stay out here at the 3 pt. line and don't try to post up." Bogans: (thinking to himself) "Coach told me to help Jameer out when he loses his man while guarding him... Oops, the man I was guarding is out there on the perimeter with no one guarding him. What do I do?...Too late! This is just imaginary. Something is not right. It just appears to me that the guys, when they are out there on the floor, are doing too much thinking and not playing "their" game or playing loose.
  6. Haha, they just confused Evans with Bogans when that foul was made. This is the second time in the past couple of games that it happened.

  8. quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16: I'm so very confused. It's the coach's fault that Dwight is getting fouled? Dwight's been reduced to shooting foul shots? He's playing scared? So scared of being aggressive that he's 3rd in the league in blocked shots. quote: Originally posted by MilitaryMagic: If Dwight can be convinced to stay aggressive while getting less touches than Rashard and Hedo, then everything can be okay. Dwight loses interest when he isn't involved on offense... but his involvement on offense is absolutely killing us right now. If Dwight went back to his rookie mentality, rebounding, putbacks, and blocked shots, I think we'd be good enough while our coaches take a couple weeks to figure out how to free up Dwight's game again. quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16: They need to figure out different ways to get him involved ASAP. He free's everyone else up, the lanes, the open shots all of those things. I can tell you right now what will fix things. Make teams pay for the WWF crap they are pulling on Dwight. He's got to calm down and start hitting at the line again. I totally agree with both of you, MillitaryMagic and Marc Acres. And correct me if I'm wrong...but wasn't the Magic using Dwight to free up other players (the way both of you suggested) when we won those first 5 or so games? Dwight was not always stuck under the basket trying to post up. I recall Dwight playing away from the basket, moving without the ball. Then someone else was slashing, then kicking out to the permimeter. Dwight would then run toward the basket for a lob or to clean up someone else's missed shot.
  9. quote: Originally posted by pocketaces42:I dont post much on here but read alot and seems to me everyone wants to do what we have always done in the past. If we start doing bad we love to talk down the magic, try to find an instant change. Some wrote about bringing back tmac! Jeeze why cant we accept that we cant win all the games, my a little more positive attitude from the fans can help the team forget about the mistakes, learn and move on as a team. I dont think looking for an easy way out and talking bad about them is the way to go. Just a thought. We should be happy we have a coach and GM who actually care about the team, unlike the past. Now everyone can tell me how wrong and stupid all this is just like a typical magic fan GO MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent Post, pocketaces42... Welcome to the board!
  10. I think this thread is absolutely rediculous!!!... It just breaks my heart to see such a thread on the Magic Message Board. It is one thing to feel disappointment in our losses, but this is taking it too far. One of my favorite things to do is to watch and root for the Orlando Magic (win or lose). I know that I don't have to click on it, but the first time that anyone clicks on the thread, it's too late. It's there for the world to see. So anyone with a heart, don't do this!

  13. quote: Originally posted by Blue Blood:This is horrible news. Lewis is out all the sudden with neck spasms? I've never even heard of that before. Blood, Rashard left the court Monday night, and the camera showed him on the bench with a heating pad on his neck. The commentators, Goukas and Steele, even expressed concern as to whether or not Lewis would be able to return. However, later, Rashard did re-enter the game. And for those of you who are in favor of having T-Mac return to the Magic, well I guess you didn't take the time to read my thread yesterday because I mentioned that T-Mac left their game Monday Night with an ankle injury.
  14. T-Mac had an ankle injury in the game they played last night.

This is so wrong. You people need to pray...ya'll going to pay for that *laughing under my breath*... (You know I'm having fun with you, especially DwightHoward1880).
  16. quote: Originally posted by mepot:I think something happened in the locker room that we may not hear about. This team seemed to get along great, having fun playing together,high-fives all around. Now all of a sudden, they look like they they are pi**ed off about something???Cripes, they're too young to be tired ,they're whining for some reason.Hopefully SVG can kick em in the butt and get them back on a roll!Should be a couple wins coming up. Somethings going on...Something ain't right!!! I might be wrong, but something is happening behind the scenes that we, the fans, are not aware of. I hope that these threats that Stan is making publicly, has not started some finger pointing off the court. I hope that singling out players has not started a polarization among them. I'm just saying...
  17. As of last night, the Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns are tied for 3rd place in the league. 1. Both teams have identical records (16-6). 2. The Magic and Suns have lost 2 in a row. What's interesting is that last night the Magic lost to Atlanta, and Phoenix lost to Miami. Records: Orlando (16-6) - Atlanta (10-10) Records: Phoenix (16-6) - Miami (6-15)

  21. I don't know what we would do without Turkoglu. He is the only Magic player attacking the basket.

  23. quote: Originally posted by JJ_I_TRUST:yeah Arroyo was doing a good job on him(Tiesnley) and SVG never used Doolin. I want it to see Keyon in there tonight. Arroyo was doing pretty good on defense and distributing the ball and he did a bad *** assist one time but he needs to attack the paint once in a while when the team is not making the shots amd Doolin is pretty good at that Thank you, JJ_I_TRUST, SauceMoney, and LilPenny. I'm glad some people are able to see the BIG picture. No one is saying that we want the Magic to go 82-0. But we also don't want the team to start a downward spiral. As LilPenny said (and I don't usually agree with him), Stan has to use common sense when making rotations. Otherwise, some of these guys are going to start losing confidence in themselves and the team.
  24. quote: Originally posted by LilPenny3000:Van Gundy is still "experimenting"... and that's ok, and that's fine But common sense says you don't put Jammer Nielsson on Tinsley.. who ends up looking like an all-star! Last year one of the guys here who lived in Miami was telling us that if we got Van Gundy we we're gonna love him, the only negative he coudl point out was once in a while he'd make some substitutions that would be questionable. It turns out he was spot on. Gundy has put in some rotations/failed to make substitutions at times that leave u scratching your head LilPenny, this is a first for me. I never agreed with you before, but I agree with you on this one.
  25. quote: Originally posted by Jackie Treehorn:It's a good thing we're nowhere near the playoffs, or I might be inclined to panic along with you guys. Jackie, I'm not panicking. I'm fine with the success we are having. I understand that the coach has to experiment with the rotation, but I have to agree with SauceMoney. Van Gundy needs to play the guys the way he did in the previous games. There should be at least one or two of your best players on the floor when the bench comes in. Otherwise, you are going to have an onslaught of injuries to some of our starters because they have to play too hard near the end of the game to try and win it. In other words, we might not make it to the playoffs if we start losing a lot of games due to key injuries.
