    New Magic tv deal

I really hope this issue gets resolved BEFORE the season starts, being that the NBA schedulers decided to keep the magic's feet on fire with so many away games in November.

Otis, Jump on this before the Celtics clean up the offseason FA!!!

We don't need reggir miller. The last thing we need is more injuries. Besides, we will eventually have (hopefully) a real 3 point threat of our own in JJ Reddick. He better at least be good for that.

    New Magic tv deal

EXACTLY JJZ. This is what I just posted in another similar topic: You know what everybody?....Everyone is saying that it seems like the Orlando Magic are all about the money, and that does seem true to me to a certain extent. But c'mon you guys, the Orlando Magic is a multi million dollar team, which means they have several employees who had to have done their research to know that FSN is not part of brighthouse central florida. As I was saying earlier, the magic are about the money, but I find it very hard to believe that they would rather put games on a network that you have to pay extra for to get on brighthouse. If FSN is part of some sports package that is 3 bucks a month, then think about it....if there are 5 channels part of this package, that is less than 60 cents going to each channel as profit (because I'm sure Bright house keeps part of that for themselves). If the magic were envisioning a kickback from fans having to get FSN and pay for it, FSN wouldn't sacrifice their whole cut of those 60 cents to the Magic, I can see maybe 5 cents per customer. Those 5 cents per customer do not make them more money than simply televising their games on cable or a regular antenna channel such as WRBQ, because I can guarantee you that although we, the hardcore magic fans that we are would consider paying extra for the games, the majority of magic fans would not. Therefore, the Orlando magic would be losing much more money because there would be lower viewer ratings for their games (means less money for the team) and less advertising for their team because if they had the games on FSN since no one could just flip the channels on cable and stumble across a game (which means less opportunity to grow your fanbase). If there were less viewers watching the games, that would mean that it would not make sense for the magic to even televise those games on FSN and spending all the money to do so if no one is going to be watching. And if there is no advertising for the team, especially with our new homie Rashard now on the team, they lose a huge opportunity to capture the interest and excitement of those non-die hard magic fans who I'm sure are ready to jump on the bandwagon as soon as we start winning. I hope you all understand what I'm trying to say above, but my point in all of those words is to say that I believe that the Orlando Magic would not have made a conscious decision to broadcast half the magic games on a network that will be a hassle for magic fans access. It's just not good business, and if the magic are all about the money, then I have a feeling they know what they are doing with this action. WE just don't know it yet.

Update on the TV controversy from Povtak(Sentinel)

That's what I mean....if they wanted to make more money, then they would keep the channels they are on now. At this point they need to advertise to as many people as possible in the cheapes way possible. It's different if they moved us to FSN the season after we had won a championship (HAHAHA....sorry, had to chuckle a little), because then everyone would pay extra for FSN because they'd have a reason to. Right now EVERYONE doesn't have a reason to get FSN, only us die hard fans do. Doesn't make business/money sense for the magic.

Thanks Soul Bro. Word around the streets is that you have e-mail connections with Big Otis. That could prove to be very useful if we all have a collective idea that absolutely needs to be seen by Otis. Later man.

EOIAM.....yeah, he did blow that opportunity. But in all trueness, I hope we all know that HE ALONE is not the reason we got swept in the finals. He along with the rest of the team did not do what they needed to do to win any of those ball games. In any event, I like to focus on the good times he provided the fans and the community. It was a time when the Orlando Magic fanbase was as united as we have ever been. Hope we can get there again sometime soon. I'm staying optimistic about this season, despite it could have been handled better. Maybe I'm just a positive guy, lol.

Yeah they were better skillswise, but Nick was one of the first true heart and hustle players on the magic. Always showed his allegiance to the magic and continues to do so. Those are the type of players I'm about. Not to mention so many great memories....all those three bombs, game winners, and of course that steal against MJ in the playoffs. Ahhh, good times.

Thanks. And obviously you now know who my favorite magic player of all time is. Could I be any more obvious about that? LOL
