God hates Magic fans 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 For the season we are 29 and 5 when allowing 100 or less.... 24 games over .500 people...that's simply an amazing stat. First it demonstrates how good this team is offensively, under Brian Hill we would struggle to score 100. Our effective field goal percentage(a weighted field goal shooting stat that accounts for 3's) is second in the league. It seems like nobody in NBA circles seems to notice how good we are offensively. But the fact is we can score, and score efficiently. The other thing it shows is when we play good defense we are a dominant team. Over the last 10 games we have played much better defense IMO. The two games we lost vs Toronto and Philly they shot the lights out. They weren't necessarily getting to the rim, Philly in particular just made a ****load of J's and you know what, I can live with that. In the playoffs teams that live by the jumper die by it. Our jump shots for the most part are good shots, they aren't heavily contested. This teams X factor over almost everyone is the fact we can score inside AND outside. Collapse on Dwight? Hedo will penetrate and draw 3 point plays or hit Lewis for 3. Want to sag off on our shooters? Okay we'll just murder you with 3's. Won't double Dwight? Okay we'll just murder you with Dwight putting scoring and drawing fouls which leads to us shooting a lot of foul shots. Zone defense? Hasn't worked against us for most of the year because of a general unselfishness. So the key down the stretch for us is to watch the 100 point games defensively, because most of the time we will get 100.
